Kyrgyzstan is a small Central Asian country with an area of only 198,500 km². It is completely landlocked between China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
Despite its size, it boasts breathtaking nature, with two of the world’s highest mountain ranges—the Pamirs and the Tian Shan—which cover almost the entire country and reach over 7,000 meters in altitude.
Because of this geography, traveling across the country requires long hours on the road, even over short distances, as many mountain passes must be crossed.
