Douiret and hike to Chenini
Djerba → Douiret
After breakfast, drive to Douiret and explore on foot with a guide the old abandoned Berber village.
Lunch in Douiret.
Douiret → Chenini
Afternoon, departure for the walking crossing from Douiret to Chenini, a Berber village still inhabited, with the guide and a donkey for carrying children.
Walking time: approximately 4 hours
Dinner and night in an ancient cave in Chenini.
Walk towards Guermessa then arrival at Zamour
Chenini → Guermessa
After breakfast, departure towards the ksar citadel of Guermessa, another abandoned Berber village reached after approximately 4 hours of trekking on the trails of the Dahar mountains overlooking the Jeffara plain with landscapes of breathtaking beauty.
Trekking time: approximately 4 hours
Lunch break along the way.
Guermessa → Zamour
At Guermessa, we rejoin the car to go to Zamour.
Dinner and night in a caravanserai.
Walk to Toujane and route to Matmata
This morning, departure with our guide and his mule for Toujane where we arrive after approximately 5 hours of hiking on a rocky trail winding through jessour and olive groves.
Hiking time: approximately 5 hours
Light lunch break on the way.
Tamezret, Zraoua the Old and Entry into the Desert
Matmata → Tamezret
Drive to the village of Tamezret where we are welcomed by a local resident who invites us to discover their very unique village before heading to Zraoua l'Ancienne via a beautiful track stretching for approximately 8 km.
Tamezret → Douz
Snack break in Zraoua where the car picks us up to head to Douz, called the Gateway to the Desert, which we cross heading towards the Sahara after visiting the Sahara Museum (approx. 45 min) dedicated to the organization of nomadic life in the desert.
Douz → Désert
Meeting with the camel drivers and their dromedaries, first contact, training and departure of the caravan.
Dinner and night in bivouac under Berber tents set up around a palm fire.

Saharan breakfast and departure of our caravan made up of a cook, a guide/camel driver and his dromedaries. Lunch between the dunes.

Registration is considered firm and final after payment of a deposit of 30% of the total price and acceptance of the specific terms of sale.
The balance must be paid no later than 45 days before the departure date.

The information below concerns travelers who are nationals of the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland and Canada traveling to Tunisia for a tourist stay. As entry requirements may change, we recommend that you verify this information with the official authorities before your departure.
Passport
To enter Tunisia, your passport must be valid for at least six months after the date of entry into the country and must contain at least one blank page for immigration stamps.
The document must be in good condition (no damaged, torn or altered pages).
Nationals of certain EEA countries (including French citizens) may enter Tunisia with a national identity card that is still valid. However, it is recommended to travel with a valid passport.
Tourist stay without visa
Nationals of the European Economic Area, Switzerland and Canada benefit from visa exemption for tourist stays.
This exemption allows a stay of up to 90 days from the date of entry into Tunisian territory.
The authorities may request:
an exit ticket from the territory (return or onward flight),
proof of sufficient financial resources for the duration of the stay,
a accommodation reservation for at least the first few days of the stay.

Upon arrival in Tunisia, travelers may be asked to fill in an information form for the immigration services, which includes in particular:

This document is usually provided on board the aircraft or is available at the airport upon arrival.
Currency declaration
The introduction of foreign currency into Tunisia is permitted, but any amount exceeding 10,000 euros or equivalent must be declared to customs on arrival. The local currency, the Tunisian dinar (TND), cannot be imported or exported.
Traveling with children
Minors must hold their own passport (or national identity card according to their nationality) valid for the duration of the stay.
When a minor travels without one of their parents, an authorization to leave the territory may be required according to the regulations of the country of residence, as well as a letter of parental consent at the request of the Tunisian authorities.

Entry conditions may vary according to nationality. Travelers concerned should inquire with the embassy or consulate of Tunisia in their country of residence.
