From Tunis to the gates of the Sahara, each stage unveils exceptional heritage shaped by millennia of civilizations. You will explore the prestigious remains of Carthage, Dougga, Thuburbo Majus, Makthar, Sbeïtla and El Jem, witnesses to the Punic, Roman and Byzantine eras. The authentic medinas of Tunis, Sfax and Kairouan will immerse you in the heart of Tunisian traditions. The journey continues towards the mountain oases of Chebika, Tamerza and Midès, true gems nestled at the confines of the desert. In Tozeur and Douz, you will discover the grandiose landscapes of Chott El-Jérid and the enchanting atmosphere of the Sahara. The itinerary will also take you to meet the Berber villages of Matmata, Chenini and Douiret, where ancestral traditions remain alive. To Tunis
Welcome to Tunis airport by our team, and transfer to Sidi Bou Saïd, a typical village of blue and white, offering beautiful panoramic views over the sea. We enjoy the charm of its moucharabiehs and the local atmosphere.

The site of Thuburbo Majus
Head towards Sidi Bou Saïd.
Sidi Bou Saïd → Thuburbo Majus
This morning, after breakfast, we head to Thuburbo Majus, located about sixty kilometers from the capital. This exceptional archaeological site immerses us in the Phoenician-Punic era, where we find the remains of the Capitol, some Roman houses, the summer and winter baths and the Petroni palaestra.
During the day, return trip to Tunis.
Free lunch in the medina and discovery of the city's main souks.
Carthage and Sidi Bou Saïd Visits
Morning dedicated to visiting Punic Carthage. After breakfast, we meet up with our English-speaking team and set out to trace this ancient civilization. We begin with the National Museum of Carthage, which displays numerous remains and accounts of this city over 3 millennia old. We continue to the Tophet sanctuary, a site once dedicated to Phoenician deities, before proceeding to the Punic ports, located nearby.
In the afternoon, we visit Roman Carthage, discovering the Roman villas district and the archaeological area of the Antonin Baths. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Antonin Baths, dating from the 2nd century AD, are the largest of their time on the African continent. Today, we can only observe their remains, but given the extent of the site, we can only imagine the magnificence of these places.
Return to the hotel or guest house for dinner and overnight stay.
Visit of Dougga and road to El Kef
Le Kef → Dougga
We head towards the Dougga archaeological site, the former capital of the Libyco-Punic state. We visit the theatre, the Compass Rose Square, the Capitol, the temple of Caelestis, the house of Ulysses and the Sirens, the Licinian baths, the Trifolium house, the Cyclopes baths, the Libyco-Punic mausoleum.
We then continue to Bulla Regia, a former Berber, Punic and Roman city whose ruins still stand.
Visit to Makthar and Subaytilah
Breakfast and departure for the archaeological site of Makthar. Founded by the Numidian Berbers to counter Carthaginian expansion, Makthar was romanized later under the reign of Emperor Marcus Aurelius.
Lunch on your own
Then, journey to Subaytilah, a Roman site dating from the 1st century. Wander through these ancient Roman roads, where we can admire the remains of this beautiful ancient city stretching for a kilometer.
Return to the hotel
Dinner and night in a 3* hotel
Tozeur
Today, we're back on the road, heading to Tozeur.
Discovery of the old medina and its oasis. Visit to the Eden Palm museum dedicated to date palm cultivation and its by-products.

The oases of Chebika, Tamerza and Mides
Tozeur → Mides
In the morning, visit the Chebika oasis, surely the most beautiful in the region. This enchanting place located in the middle of the desert offers a surprising setting with ocre-colored sand and gypsum mountains or orange rocks surrounding it.
Continue to the Tamerza oasis and discover its waterfalls.
It is in this picturesque setting that we have lunch. Then, drive to the Mides canyons, a magnificent mountain oasis stretching over 3 kilometers. We take a short walk there.
Mides → Douz
Continuation to Douz called the Gateway to the Desert via crossing the Chott El-Jérid, a vast salt lake stretching over a hundred kilometers where mirages are frequently visible.
At our destination, we will dedicate ourselves to visiting the Sahara Museum. Its exhibition illustrates the life of the local population, as well as the fauna and flora of this part of the desert located between the Grand Erg Oriental and the southern limit of Chott El-Jérid.
`ALTERNATIVE OPTION: Departure for the desert on camelback or in a 4X4 vehicle.

Night under tents`
Discovery of the Troglodytes
Breakfast at the hotel (or in the desert) and departure to Matmata, to discover an underground troglodyte house, where we will have lunch.
Continuation towards the south and visit of Ksar Hallouf, a fortified Berber village.
Crossing part of the Dahar and discovery of the abandoned Berber village of Guermassa, from which you have a breathtaking view over the Jeffara plain.
Next, visit the still inhabited Berber village of Chenini.
Matmata → Douiret
Dinner and night in a guesthouse in the former Berber village of Douiret.

Séjour touristique sans visa
Les ressortissants de l'Espace économique européen, de la Suisse et du Canada bénéficient d'une exemption de visa pour les séjours touristiques.
Cette exemption permet un séjour pouvant aller jusqu'à 90 jours à compter de la date d'entrée sur le territoire tunisien.
Les autorités peuvent demander :
un billet de sortie du territoire (vol retour ou continuation),
une preuve de ressources financières suffisantes pour la durée du séjour,
une réservation d'hébergement pour au moins les premiers jours du séjour.
