Thailand's CSA has approved the elimination of all testing requirements as well as its Test&Go and Sandbox programs for travelers arriving in Thailand from May 1st. Registration for the new Thailand Pass became available from April 29th.

This marks the most significant easing of entry conditions for fully vaccinated travelers since the Thailand Pass was introduced.

The "Test&Go," "Sandbox," and "Alternative Quarantine (AQ)" Programs

There will no longer be Test&Go or Sandbox programs, and unvaccinated travelers now have more options. The only two categories will now simply be "vaccinated" or "unvaccinated." The major change is that there are no pre-travel tests or on-arrival tests from May 1st onwards for fully vaccinated travelers.

Unvaccinated Travelers

Unvaccinated travelers or those with incomplete vaccination who present a negative pre-travel test result (within 72 hours) will be treated exactly the same as vaccinated travelers.

Don't forget the test—otherwise you'll be subject to 5 days quarantine in an Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotel plus a PCR test on day 4 or 5.

The CSA recommends that foreign nationals monitor their own health status upon arrival in Thailand or in case of any concerns.

Registration on the Thailand Pass System:

The Thailand Pass remains an important step, but the only documents you need to upload for registration before coming to Thailand are your passport details, vaccination information, and proof of insurance coverage (reduced from USD 20,000 to USD 10,000). You'll still need to wait for your Thailand Pass approval before entering Thailand, but this will take a maximum of 48 hours.
