Today, you'll find an increasing number of high-end hotels on Koh Phangan, though Koh Samui still offers a greater range of facilities. In other words, you'll have no trouble finding your perfect match on either island, whatever your expectations and requirements.

Which island is the most touristy?

Koh Samui is the more touristy of the two islands. That said, Koh Phangan has been attracting more visitors since the end of Covid, especially during high season. Still, it's possible to find yourself alone on a beach during low season, particularly in April and May.
