Beachfront eco-resort at Khlong Khong, Koh Lanta: wooden bungalows beneath coconut palms, Kati Kala restaurant and direct access to the Andaman Sea.

Coco Lanta Resort occupies a coconut-shaded oceanfront plot on Khlong Khong beach, the west coast of Koh Lanta. The property embraces the beachside eco-lodge concept: wooden bungalows spaced among the trees, direct beach access, Thai dining and the amenities you'd expect from a resort, minus the density of larger neighboring complexes.

Why stay here

Three elements define the appeal of this address. First, the setting: Khlong Khong remains one of the quietest beaches on the west coast, midway between the bustle of Phra Ae to the north and the wilder coves further south. Next, the layout: four bungalow categories scattered through shaded gardens rather than a conventional hotel building. Finally, the eco-lodge positioning, evident in the timber construction, garden atmosphere and handcrafted lanterns lit along the beach at dusk.

Atmosphere

The spirit here is that of an intimate beachside resort, feet in the sand and unpretentious. The bungalows, simple in appearance, are nestled among the coconut palms; pathways to the Kati Kala restaurant and pool wind through the garden. Come evening, handcrafted lanterns dotting the beach set the tone: dinner facing the Andaman Sea, a drink at the bar, and a measured pace of activity. The English-speaking and Thai-speaking staff enhance this relaxed atmosphere.

Bungalows

Accommodation is divided into four categories: Family Room, Eco Value, Eco Room and Eco Garden View. The largest bungalow sleeps up to 4 guests, making it suitable for families or groups of friends. All rooms feature air conditioning and wifi. Note: all accommodations are non-smoking, and breakfast is included with your reservation.

On-site amenities

  • Pool and lounge chairs in the garden
  • Kati Kala restaurant (Thai and international cuisine)
  • Beachfront bar
  • On-site massage services
  • Shaded gardens and direct beach access
  • Wifi in bungalows

Location

The resort sits on Khlong Khong beach, on the west coast of Koh Lanta Yai. The nearest airport is Krabi, roughly 2 hours away by road including ferry crossing or bridge passage (depending on traffic direction and congestion). Most transfers are arranged via shared minibus or private taxi from Krabi airport or the main bus station.

When to visit

Koh Lanta operates on a clearly marked seasonal calendar. High season runs November to April: calm seas, clear skies, ideal for beach time, snorkeling and boat trips to nearby islands. The monsoon, May to October, brings rain and rough swells; some properties and boat services reduce operations or close. For comfortable beach holidays, aim for December to March.

Nearby

The central location makes it easy to explore the island. Several beaches line the coast north and south: Long Beach and Phra Ae to the north, Khlong Nin just south, then Nui Beach and Kantiang Bay further south, increasingly secluded. Mu Ko Lanta National Park at the island's southern tip (roughly 35 minutes' drive) offers viewpoints, a lighthouse and forest trails. The old town of Lanta on the east coast deserves a visit for its port atmosphere and traditional stilt houses.

Other nearby options extend the experience: Anda Lanta Resort at Khlong Dao, or the upscale Banyan Tree Krabi on the mainland.
