The Stardust restaurant serves breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner. In the evening, an outdoor barbecue station complements the menu: skewers, satays, whole grilled fish, accompanied by a salad bar. The wine list features 24 selections — champagnes, sparkling wines, rosés, Italian, French, South African, Californian, South American and Australian reds — several available by the glass. Address: 62 Kata Road, Tambon Karon, Phuket 83100. The hotel is located in the heart of Kata village, a short walk from the beach and restaurants on the main street. Expect about an hour's drive from Phuket International Airport depending on traffic. Patong and its nightlife are about ten minutes' drive to the north.
When to visit
High season in Phuket runs from November to March: clear skies, calm seas, temperatures around 30°C. The rainy season extends from May to October, with often brief showers but significant swell on the west coast, which can restrict swimming on Kata Beach (red flags frequent in July-August). April marks the transition, still pleasant but hot and humid.
Nearby
Kata serves as a convenient base for exploring the island's south. The Karon viewpoint, between Kata and Nai Harn, offers one of the most accessible panoramas over three successive beaches. The great Buddha of Phuket and Wat Chalong temple are about twenty minutes' drive away. For sea excursions, departures to the Phi Phi Islands and Phang Nga Bay leave from Chalong Pier, to the southeast.
