Ten bungalows facing the Nai Wok lagoon, a short distance from Thong Sala. Private beach, saltwater pool and seafront restaurant on the west coast of Koh Phangan.

On the west coast of Koh Phangan, nestled in the tranquil Nai Wok bay, Angkana Bungalows lines up ten wooden bungalows facing a sheltered lagoon, close to the port and centre of Thong Sala. A family-friendly address, without pretension, designed for those seeking a toes-in-the-sand experience and quick access to ferries.

Why choose Angkana Bungalows

  • Private beach on Nai Wok bay, sunset-facing side
  • Ten bungalows only, intimate atmosphere
  • Saltwater pool and seafront restaurant open all day
  • Thong Sala centre and ferry pier within immediate reach
  • Massage and yoga available for an additional fee

The atmosphere

Nai Wok bay overlooks a sheltered lagoon, quieter than the east coast beaches, and the late afternoon light here is particularly soft. The property emphasizes a calm pace: no loud music, minimal foot traffic, a beach shared with the guests and a handful of local fishermen. Rhythm revolves around the pool, restaurant and sea, all just steps away.

The bungalows

The grounds hold ten bungalows scattered among coconut palms: four with sea views, four facing the garden, and two set on the waterfront overlooking the lagoon. Each spans 24 m² and features the same understated decorative approach—wooden furniture, bamboo accents and naturally toned fabrics, all without excess.

All come with a private terrace, perfect for breakfast or evening time. Equipment includes air conditioning, fridge, kettle, flat-screen TV with streaming services, free wifi and a safe. Bathrooms feature hot water.

Services and dining

The saltwater pool is surrounded by vegetation, metres from the private beach furnished with loungers. Massage sessions and yoga classes can be arranged for an additional fee, upon request.

The seafront restaurant operates throughout the day. The menu blends Thai cuisine with Western dishes, plus a selection of cocktails. It's also the spot for coffee or a snack between swims.

Location and access

The property sits in Nai Wok bay, a short distance from Thong Sala centre and its port. Several options to reach Koh Phangan:

  • Ferry from Surat Thani, Don Sak or Chumphon on the mainland
  • Sea connection from Koh Samui or Koh Tao
  • Flight to Koh Samui airport (the nearest), then ferry to Thong Sala

On the ground, taxis, car and scooter rentals are available from the port.

In the area

Thong Sala concentrates the island's shops, night markets, restaurants and bars. The west coast, quieter than the east, is prized for sunsets and views over the archipelago. Party seekers will find Haad Rin and Full Moon Party beach to the southeast, around 30 minutes by scooter away. To the north, Bottle Beach and Thong Nai Pan offer more secluded shores, reachable by boat or inland roads.

Activity-wise, the bay lends itself to kayaking and boat excursions to nearby islets; diving and snorkeling sites around Koh Tao remain a classic day trip.
