How long should you spend in Patagonia?
Allow a minimum of 2 weeks to visit the iconic sites on both sides. One week lets you focus on a single area (glaciers or Torres del Paine). Three weeks offer a comfortable pace with the option to extend to Ushuaïa.
The best time for a Patagonia tour is December to February (summer), when weather is warmest and days are longest. March and April (autumn) also offer pleasant conditions with fewer crowds. Avoid June to August (winter) due to cold temperatures and limited daylight. September to November (spring) can be windy but increasingly popular for hiking.
The austral summer (November-March) offers the best weather conditions and access to all sites. February-March remain optimal with less wind. Autumn (April-May) reveals beautiful colors but with reduced services.
