Manaslu or "Mountain of the Soul". If Everest is known as the mountain of the English and Annapurna as the mountain of the French, Manaslu is considered the mountain of the Japanese because the summit was reached in 1956 by a Japanese expedition. Since then, many other climbers have conquered the mountain, but many other brave souls have never returned either…
A granite monster dressed in a thick robe of eternal snow, its pyramidal peak reaches 8,163 meters in altitude. It is thus the 8th highest peak in the world. On a trek of around fifteen days admire this immense natural jewel, far from the mass tourism of the traditional Annapurna.
Between valleys dotted with lush rice fields, through picturesque villages animated by the Buddhist chants of villagers, and along snow-capped mountains and rivers.

Arrival in Kathmandu
Welcome and assistance by our representative at Tribhuvan International Airport, in Kathmandu. .
A short car ride takes you to your hotel where you can rest for a few moments.
Route: Kathmandu - Barpak
Katmandou → Barpak
You have an appointment at 6:30 AM. Today you will take to the road for several hours. Around 9 AM you make a stop at a picturesque restaurant. The decoration and service are perfect as are the gastronomic choices. You set off again on the winding roads that cross verdant valleys dotted with small villages. After 4 hours of driving, you turn onto a rough track. The adventure begins and the potholes are fortunately well absorbed by the four-wheel drive's suspensions.
Along the way, you cross dozens of small villages surrounded by rice fields and animated by the shouts of children playing. You finally arrive at Barpak (1915 meters). A lodge with a magnificent view of the Buddha Mountain awaits you. Simple but clean and situated in the middle of a vegetable garden.

Departure after breakfast. The steep ascent is largely compensated by the beauty of the landscapes surrounding you. On your left, the Buddha Mountain reflects the morning sun on its snow-covered slopes, on the right rice fields are cultivated by an army of Nepalese women.
You reach 2800 meters altitude 3 hours later. You take advantage of the view to descend and cross the village of "Laprak 2". Ravaged by the earthquake, it is an army of soldiers who are currently helping the population rebuild their homes. We arrive in late afternoon at the old village of Laprak (2100 meters). The room offers a magnificent view over the cultivated valley.
Laprak - Khorlabesi
Laprak → Khorlabesi
This is probably the most difficult day. You descend to the bottom of the valley to cross a metal suspension bridge. The path continues along a huge hill. After crossing Sing la, you descend a steep staircase to reach Khorlabesi (900 meters). Khorlabesi is accessible via 2 suspension bridges. After this long day, the ideal is to enjoy the soothing sound of the river, an Everest Beer in hand.

Awakened by your sherpa, you set off without having breakfast to reach the stopover village of Tatopani. Just 1 hour's walk away, the village has a hot spring and therefore a heated swimming pool. Nestled between the river and the limestone cliff face, steam rises around the tourist establishment. Well-maintained, the hotel is surrounded by very lush vegetation that contrasts with the surrounding landscapes.
On the way, we encounter dozens of mule convoys. You regain energy in the village of YuruKhola. According to the guides, the restaurant serves one of the best Dal Bhat in the region. And as a European non-specialist in Dal Bhat, I can confirm that it's the best I ate during my entire stay!
The journey is pleasant as there is little elevation change. Arriving at Jagat(1340m) in late afternoon. The village is larger than all those encountered previously.
Deng - Namrung
Deng → Namrung
Today you exceed the 2000 meters altitude threshold, in Gurung country. The gorges become wider and the horizon opens towards Tibet. The many authentic villages were once stops on the salt route. Night in lodge.
Namrung - Samagaon
Namrung → Samagaon
This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful days of your trek. Today you catch a glimpse of the summit of Manasluwhile crossing Gurung villages and meeting a strong Tibetan community until the village of Samagaon. Night in lodge.
Excursion to Punghyen
Today you have the opportunity to rest in Samagaon. But it would be a shame as your guide can take you to Punghyen, the former name of Manaslu, for a face-to-face encounter with the summit. A grandiose moment and perhaps your most beautiful memory of this stay, as the encounter with Manaslu is spectacular and moving. Night in a lodge.
Samagaon - Birendra Lake - Samdo

Short day in preparation for the mountain pass. Admire the Birendra high-altitude lake and enjoy the afternoon to rest. Night in lodge.
Samdo - Larkya Phedi
Samdo → Larkya Phedi
Short day that takes you over the 4000 meter mark. Some rest is welcome before tomorrow's pass crossing. Overnight in lodge.
Larkya Phedi - Bhimthang
Larkya Phedi → Bhimthang
It's the big day, wake up at dawn for this long day. The climb is not very difficult and you cross the Larkya Pass at 5125 meters, congratulations! You now tackle a long descent down to the village of Bhimtang. Night in lodge.
Bhimtang - Tilje
Bhimthang → Tilje
The hardest part is behind you and your trek is coming to an end. This is already your final day of hiking. Enjoy the peaks that rise up with Manaslu to the East and the Annapurna to the West! Night in lodge..
Tilje - Besisahar - Kathmandu
Tilje → Katmandou
This morning, you walk for one hour to reach Dharapani. From there, a jeep awaits you to drop you off at Besishar, at the crossroads between Annapurna and Manaslu. Your driver then takes you to your hotel in Kathmandu.

Registration is considered firm and final after payment of a deposit of 30% of the total price and acceptance of the specific terms of sale.
The balance must be paid no later than 45 days before the departure date.

Passeport
Pour entrer au Népal, votre passeport doit être valide au minimum six mois après la date d'entrée dans le pays et comporter au moins deux pages vierges pour les tampons d'immigration.
Le document doit être en bon état (pas de pages détériorées, déchirées ou modifiées).
Visa touristique
Contrairement à certaines destinations, le Népal n'accorde pas d'exemption de visa aux ressortissants de l'Espace économique européen, de la Suisse et du Canada. Un visa touristique est obligatoire pour entrer sur le territoire.
Ce visa peut être obtenu de deux façons :
À l'arrivée (visa on arrival) : disponible aux principaux points d'entrée, notamment l'aéroport international de Tribhuvan à Katmandou et certains postes-frontières terrestres. Il est fortement recommandé de remplir le formulaire de demande en ligne avant le départ afin de faciliter les formalités sur place.
En ligne avant le départ : via le système officiel de visa en ligne du gouvernement népalais (online visa application), permettant d'obtenir une autorisation préalable à présenter à l'arrivée.
Les tarifs officiels sont les suivants :
15 jours : 30 USD
30 jours : 50 USD
90 jours : 125 USD
Le paiement s'effectue généralement en espèces (USD, EUR ou autres devises acceptées) ou par carte bancaire selon les points d'entrée. Il est conseillé de prévoir des dollars américains en espèces pour le règlement sur place.
Les autorités peuvent également demander :
un billet de sortie du territoire (vol retour ou continuation),
une preuve de ressources financières suffisantes pour la durée du séjour.

Avant votre arrivée, il est recommandé de remplir le formulaire d'arrivée en ligne disponible sur le portail officiel du gouvernement népalais. Ce formulaire permet de renseigner les autorités d'immigration sur :
les informations du passeport
les détails du vol
l'adresse du premier hébergement au Népal
Une confirmation numérique ou un code de référence pourra être demandé lors du passage à l'immigration ou au comptoir de délivrance du visa à l'arrivée.
Permis spéciaux pour les zones de trekking
Certaines régions du Népal nécessitent des permis supplémentaires en plus du visa touristique :
le TIMS (Trekkers' Information Management System) : obligatoire pour la plupart des itinéraires de trekking,
les permis de parc national ou de zone de conservation (ex. : Sagarmatha pour l'Everest, Annapurna Conservation Area),
des permis de zone restreinte pour certaines destinations spécifiques comme le Mustang, le Dolpo ou le Manaslu.
Ces permis s'obtiennent généralement à Katmandou ou Pokhara, auprès des bureaux compétents.
Santé et vaccins
Aucun vaccin n'est obligatoire pour entrer au Népal, sauf en cas d'arrivée depuis un pays à risque de fièvre jaune. Toutefois, plusieurs vaccinations sont fortement recommandées par les autorités sanitaires :
hépatites A et B,
typhoïde,
diphtérie-tétanos-poliomyélite (DTP),
rage (notamment pour les séjours prolongés ou en zones reculées),
encéphalite japonaise (selon les zones et la saison).
Un traitement antipaludéen préventif peut être recommandé pour certaines régions de basse altitude (Teraï). Il est conseillé de consulter un médecin ou un centre de vaccination international au moins quatre à six semaines avant le départ.
Voyage avec des enfants
Les mineurs doivent être titulaires de leur propre passeport valide couvrant la durée du séjour, ainsi que de leur propre visa touristique.
Dans certains pays européens, lorsqu'un mineur voyage sans l'un de ses parents, une autorisation de sortie du territoire peut être exigée selon la réglementation du pays de résidence.
Autres nationalités
Les conditions d'entrée peuvent varier selon la nationalité. Les voyageurs concernés doivent se renseigner auprès de l'ambassade ou du consulat du Népal de leur pays de résidence.
