The spirit of travel

Just a few hours from the busy beaches of the east coast, Los Haitises reveals a completely different side of República Dominicana. This day trip takes you to the heart of a wild territory where freshwater waterfalls, giant mangroves and limestone cliffs compose spectacular landscapes. After a refreshing break in the natural pools of Caño Hondo, you navigate through the islets of the national park to discover caves that once sheltered the island's first inhabitants, the Taínos, whose rock paintings can still be seen today. Local wildlife also reveals itself as you navigate, notably numerous bird species nesting in the cliffs and surrounding mangrove. A stop on an isolated beach allows you to fully enjoy the preserved setting, far from any tourist infrastructure. Far from the tourist hustle and bustle, this excursion invites you to slow down and explore one of the Caribbean's last great natural sanctuaries.

Essential Nature Excursion from Bayahibe and Punta Cana

Spend a timeless day discovering two natural gems of the República Dominicana: the waterfalls of Caño Hondo and Los Haitises National Park.

Designed for travelers seeking authenticity and serenity, this excursion immerses you in pristine nature, far from beaten paths and conventional tourist circuits.

Accompanied by a passionate English-speaking guide, set off in a small group (maximum 14 participants) for a friendly, immersive and unforgettable experience.

Your adventure begins early in the morning, departing at 6:30 AM from Punta Cana or 7:30 AM from Bayahibe.

Aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned minibus, you traverse the Dominican countryside while your guide shares anecdotes and stories about local life and the country's culture.

Around 10:00 AM, you reach Caño Hondo, an exceptional natural site nestled at the edge of Los Haitises National Park.

This enchanting place is renowned for its ecological pools and natural waterfalls, fed by freshwater springs.

A light breakfast of fruit and sandwiches is served on site before you enjoy free time for swimming.

Let yourself be enveloped by the cool, crystal-clear waters, the song of birds and the tropical vegetation surrounding this haven of peace.

An ideal place to recharge and fully experience the raw beauty of the República Dominicana.

After lunch, head to the spectacular Los Haitises National Park, classified as a nature reserve since 1976.

This marine and terrestrial sanctuary spans over 1,600 km², home to mangroves, limestone islets and unique biodiversity.

At 1:00 PM, board a motorboat cruise through a labyrinth of channels and impressive rock formations.

Your guide will lead you to discover caves decorated with Taíno paintings and engravings, fascinating remnants of the island's first inhabitants.

The interplay of light on the cliffs and mangrove roots creates a grandiose natural setting, often compared to Ha Long Bay.

This moment of exploration is a true immersion in the island's wild nature and cultural memory.

In the afternoon, you reach an isolated and pristine beach in the park, accessible only by sea.

Here, no restaurants or loungers: just golden sand, turquoise waters and absolute peace.

It's the perfect spot for a final swim, a walk along the water or a moment of relaxation under the coconut palms.

Around 4:00 PM, it will be time to head back, with images filling your mind and your heart full of tropical energy.

Arrival is expected between 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM at your hotel in Bayahibe or Punta Cana.
