Cultural Immersion in La Romana and its Surroundings
Departing from Bayahibe or La Romana, set off for a day of local exploration at the heart of Dominican life. Far from typical tourist circuits, this excursion invites you to meet locals, discover their expertise, their culture and savor the culinary delights of the region.
Between coastal villages, passionate artisans, mysterious caves and spectacular views, this day reveals a more authentic and human side of the República Dominicana.
Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you will travel in a small group of 4 to 10 people maximum for a friendly, personalized and immersive experience, ideal for those who wish to discover the true face of the island.
Your adventure begins with the discovery of the Cueva de las Maravillas, an exceptional archaeological and natural site. Located between La Romana and San Pedro de Macorís, this underground cave houses over 500 Taíno rock paintings and petroglyphs, fascinating witnesses to the island's earliest civilizations.
Accompanied by your guide, you will explore the spectacular galleries, between stalactites, stalagmites and pre-Columbian drawings, while learning about the history and cultural significance of this sacred place.
You will then continue towards a local underwear factory, where you will discover the meticulous and manual work of Dominican artisans. A unique immersion in the daily reality of the country: commitment, expertise and passion blend together in a welcoming atmosphere.
It is a human and inspiring visit, far from tourist clichés, which showcases the resilience and precision of Dominican craftsmanship.
At lunch time, you will head to La Caleta, a picturesque fishing village located on the coast of La Romana.
A meal of freshly caught fish, cooked in the local manner, will be served to you with your feet in the sand, with a panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea and Catalina Island.
Here, no standardized buffets, but simple, fresh and flavorful cuisine, in a friendly and peaceful atmosphere.
In the afternoon, head towards the mythical Altos de Chavón, the famous artist village of Casa de Campo. Inspired by a 15th-century Mediterranean village, this enchanting place captivates with its cobbled streets, stone buildings and wrought iron balconies overlooking the majestic Chavón River.
Your guide will reveal to you the history, architecture and anecdotes that make Altos de Chavón a must-see of the region. It is also the perfect spot for your most beautiful photos thanks to its panoramic view of the valley and the sea.
Your day ends with a visit to a Dominican artisanal chocolate factory, where you will follow all the stages of cacao transformation, from bean to tablet.
The artisans will share with you their passion and their manufacturing secrets before a delicious tasting with intense local flavors.

The balance must be paid no later than 45 days before the departure date.

Passeport
Pour entrer en République Dominicaine, votre passeport doit être valide pendant toute la durée du séjour et comporter au moins une page vierge pour les tampons d'immigration.
Le document doit être en bon état (pas de pages détériorées, déchirées ou modifiées). Il est toutefois recommandé de disposer d'un passeport valable encore six mois après la date d'entrée dans le pays.
Séjour touristique sans visa
Les ressortissants de l'Espace économique européen, de la Suisse et du Canada bénéficient d'une exemption de visa pour les séjours touristiques en République Dominicaine.
Cette exemption permet un séjour pouvant aller jusqu'à 30 jours lors de l'entrée sur le territoire. Une prolongation peut être demandée sur place auprès de la Direction Générale de Migration dominicaine, pour une durée pouvant atteindre 60 jours supplémentaires.
Les autorités peuvent également demander :
un billet de sortie du territoire (vol retour ou continuation),
une preuve de ressources financières suffisantes pour la durée du séjour,
une adresse d'hébergement sur place.
Carte touristique (E-Ticket)
Avant votre arrivée, il est obligatoire de compléter le formulaire en ligne E-Ticket República Dominicana, mis en place par les autorités dominicaines. Ce document numérique regroupe à la fois les formalités d'immigration et de douane.

Un QR code est généré à l'issue de la saisie et doit être présenté, sous format numérique ou imprimé, lors du passage à l'immigration à l'arrivée et au départ.
Santé
Aucun vaccin n'est obligatoire pour entrer en République Dominicaine. Toutefois, certaines vaccinations sont recommandées selon les zones visitées et le profil du voyageur :
la vaccination contre la fièvre typhoïde et l'hépatite A est couramment conseillée,
un traitement antipaludéen peut être recommandé pour les séjours en zones rurales ou isolées.
Il est conseillé de consulter un médecin ou un centre de vaccination internationale avant le départ.
Voyage avec des enfants
Les mineurs doivent être titulaires de leur propre passeport valide couvrant la durée du séjour.
Lorsqu'un mineur voyage sans l'un de ses parents ou sans ses deux parents, une autorisation parentale de sortie du territoire, accompagnée d'une copie du passeport du ou des parents absents, peut être exigée par les autorités dominicaines.
Dans certains pays européens, une autorisation de sortie du territoire peut également être requise selon la réglementation du pays de résidence.
