Arrival in Kathmandu

Kathmandu - Tal
Early in the morning, your driver takes you to Besisahar, the starting point for many treks in the Annapurna.

Tal - Tilche: Beginning of the trek
First day of your trek. You start by reaching the village of Khotro by following the Marshyangdi river. The path then rises to the Gurung village of Naache, then descends towards a suspension bridge 200 meters above the river gorges, offering you a view of the Annapurna peaks. You then enter a pine forest that leads you to your stop, the village of Tilche. Night in lodge.

Tilche - Tachai
After breakfast, you set off through the cornfields and potato fields. After an hour of walking, a small detour takes you to a cave filled with stalactites that was used for meditation. Then rejoin the pine forest until the village of Tachai. If you wish, you can visit the hot water springs just 20 minutes walk from the village.
Night in lodge.

Tachai - Shongle

Kuchumro Phedi - Kuchumro Pass - Yarcha Pass - Namakyu
Long day with two passes on the agenda. During the first climb, you have a stunning view of the Manaslu, the Lamjung and Annapurna. Once at the summit of the Kuchumro pass (5490m), a short descent takes you to the foot of the second ascent of the day the Yarcha pass (4860m) which offers you views of the Kanguru Himal, and Annapurna II.
You then descend to set up camp.
Night in camp.

Namakyu - Meta Pass - Meta

Meta - Phu
A long day awaits you but without great difficulty. You enter the transhimalayan region which is much drier, offering a more desert-like landscape. Steeped in history, this region harbored Tibetan rebels fighting against the Chinese government in the 1960s, which still bears the traces. The climbs are gradual and you cross several bridges until you arrive at Phu.
The village seems built right into the rock and blends with the landscape. While there are now some modern houses, most are made of stone, wood and mud.
Night in lodge.

Phu - Phu Pass - Loang

Loang - Naar Pass - Chekchu
The day begins with the climb to the Naar Pass (5400m). Slightly more difficult than the previous ones to cross, the reward is all the more beautiful with a 360-degree panoramic view in the heart of the Annapurna. You then set off for a long descent towards Chekchu.
Night in camp.

Naar - Kangla Phedi
This morning, you take time to visit the village of Naar. After lunch, you travel through the Pisang valley to reach Kangla Phedi, at the foot of the pass. Night in camp.

Kangla Phedi - Kangla Pass - Ngawal
This is one of the most beautiful stages of your trek that awaits you. After 3 hours of effort, the summit of the pass offers a spectacular view over the peaks. A highlight of the trek.
You descend into the Marshyangdi valley to find the very charming village of Ngawal as well as the route of the classic Annapurna circuit.
Night in a lodge.

Ngawal: Rest Day
Well-deserved rest day after 12 days of trekking and already 6 passes crossed. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the village and the views it offers to recharge your batteries before tackling the final part of your adventure.
Night in lodge.

Ngawal - Manang
After the rest day, it's a short stage that takes you to Manang village, the capital of the district. If the climb to Pisang is intense, the view that unfolds before you compensates for your effort. The climate becomes cooler and drier. You'll find a bit of civilization here.
Night in lodge.

Yak Kharka - Thorong La Base Camp
It is a narrow path that leads you to Thorong Phedi. This day is intentionally short in anticipation of the next day's ascent which begins before dawn.
Night in lodge.

Thorong La Base Camp - Thorong La Pass - Muktinath
This is the final and greatest challenge of your journey. At 3 a.m., you begin a steep ascent of nearly 1000m to the mythical Thorong La Pass. The prayer flags that welcome you warm your heart and reward yourself with a hot tea or coffee. The descent is otherworldly, as snow gives way to arid lands, and you now enter the Tibetan plateaus.
You continue to Muktinath, a famous pilgrimage site for Hindus and its majestic temple. Night in lodge.

Jomsom - Pokhara

Pokhara - Kathmandu
You now take a flight back to Kathmandu. Another short flight that offers you one last time views of the Himalaya. Spend the rest of the day shopping for souvenirs or participate in a Bluesheep Journeys experience! Night at the hotel.

The information below concerns travelers who are nationals of the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, and Canada traveling to Nepal for a tourist stay. Since entry rules may change, we recommend that you verify this information with the official authorities before your departure.
Passport
To enter Nepal, your passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the date of entry into the country and must have at least two blank pages for immigration stamps.
The document must be in good condition (no damaged, torn, or altered pages).
Tourist visa
Unlike some destinations, Nepal does not grant visa exemptions to nationals of the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and Canada. A tourist visa is mandatory to enter the territory.
This visa can be obtained in two ways:
On arrival (visa on arrival): available at the main entry points, notably Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and certain land border crossings. It is strongly recommended to complete the application form online before departure to facilitate procedures on site.
Online before departure: via the official online visa system of the Nepalese government (online visa application), allowing you to obtain prior authorization to present upon arrival.
Official rates are as follows:
15 days: 30 USD
30 days: 50 USD
90 days: 125 USD
Payment is generally made in cash (USD, EUR, or other accepted currencies) or by credit card depending on the entry points. It is advisable to have US dollars in cash for payment on site.
The authorities may also request:
an exit ticket from the territory (return flight or onward journey),
proof of sufficient financial resources for the duration of your stay.
Online arrival form
Before your arrival, it is recommended to complete the online arrival form available on the official portal of the Nepalese government. This form allows you to provide immigration authorities with:
passport information
flight details
the address of your first accommodation in Nepal
A digital confirmation or a reference code may be requested when passing through immigration or at the visa issuance counter upon arrival.
Special permits for trekking areas
Certain regions of Nepal require additional permits in addition to the tourist visa:
the TIMS (Trekkers' Information Management System): mandatory for most trekking itineraries,
national park or conservation area permits (e.g., Sagarmatha for Everest, Annapurna Conservation Area),
restricted zone permits for certain specific destinations such as Mustang, Dolpo, or Manaslu.
These permits are generally obtained in Kathmandu or Pokhara from the relevant offices.
Health and vaccinations
No vaccine is mandatory to enter Nepal, except in case of arrival from a country at risk of yellow fever. However, several vaccinations are strongly recommended by health authorities:
hepatitis A and B,
typhoid,
diphtheria-tetanus-poliomyelitis (DTP),
rabies (especially for extended stays or in remote areas),
Japanese encephalitis (depending on areas and season).
Preventive antimalarial treatment may be recommended for certain low-altitude regions (Terai). It is advisable to consult a doctor or international vaccination center at least four to six weeks before departure.
Traveling with children
Minors must hold their own valid passport covering the duration of the stay, as well as their own tourist visa.
In certain European countries, when a minor travels without one of their parents, an exit authorization from the territory may be required according to the regulations of the country of residence.
Other nationalities
Entry conditions may vary depending on nationality. Travelers concerned should inquire with the embassy or consulate of Nepal in their country of residence.
