The spirit of travel
The purpose of this program is to spend a New Year's Eve in the Moroccan desert in luxury bivouac, in an exotic setting in the heart of the dunes. The circuit consists of arriving in Agadir on December 29 and leaving Taroudant on January 4. Between the Anti-Atlas, the desert landscapes of Erg Chegaga and the Drâa valley, we discover several facets of southern Maroc and its landscapes. The journey alternates between scenic routes, 4x4 trails, walks, discovery of kasbahs and moments of relaxation in comfortable accommodations. We also cross oases, palm groves and small emblematic towns of the region, while taking time to enjoy each stage. The highlight of the stay remains New Year's Eve night, spent in a luxury bivouac at the foot of the dunes, around a typical meal and in a warm atmosphere. The tour is obviously adaptable to your needs and preferences. A particular way to welcome the New Year, between nature, Berber traditions, discovery of the Moroccan desert and moments of relaxation.

Highlights
Day-by-day itinerary

Agadir-Taroudant
We land at Agadir airport and then head to the city of Taroudant.
Once there, we are welcomed at our hotel, Dar Zitoune, to already enjoy a professional care session: hammam, massage, body treatments.
Once all that is done, we can relax peacefully by the hotel pool.
In the afternoon, we can take a calèche ride around the city ramparts. Taroudant is defended by 7 kilometers of historic walls within which are set 130 towers and 19 corner bastions connected to one another by a patrol path.
As night falls, we dine and sleep comfortably at Dar Zitoune.

Taroudant-Anti-Atlas
We start this day by driving the scenic road crossing the Anti-Atlas, discovering the gorges and the Attiq waterfalls.
On site, it is possible to find a suitable spot for swimming. We also recommend a hike through the heart of these wild spaces.
Nestled in the middle of an exceptional location, the Nomadic camp Akka Naït Sidi is ideal for spending the night (dinner and accommodation in a private tent).

Lake Iriki and Chegaga Erg
First, we take the road to Foum Zguid, the last town before the desert.
The Dakar track takes us towards the oasis of the M'douar mountains. We stop there to take some photos.
Then, we cross the Iriki Lake, offering magnificent mirages when it dries up.
The soft sand track through an area of small dunes leads to the Chegaga erg where we are awaited for a long camel ride.
We finally settle into the luxury bivouac at the foot of the dunes.
It is in the middle of this desert that we will enjoy our New Year's Eve night: typical meal, very comfortable accommodation with bathroom.

Mhamid
Tired from last night's party, we can enjoy a bit of this morning in the Chegaga erg.
We gradually leave the desert area by continuing by 4x4 on the track to Mhamid, a rural municipality in the province of Zagora, in the Drâa-Tafilalet region.
At Mhamid, we are welcomed at the Dar Azawad hotel in comfortable bungalows: swimming pool, free walk in the palm grove, visit of a house-museum.
Access to the spa for another moment of relaxation.
We enjoy a very comfortable night at Dar Azawad (double room, half board, swimming pool).

Drâa Valley
This circuit, going up the Drâa valley, is done at your own pace and according to your interests. So, don't hesitate if you want a little break or if you want to take this or that panorama in a photo.
We recommend in any case the visit of the kasbahs of Tamnougalte where monuments and picturesque landscapes meet.
We dine in the kasbah of Azul nestled in the palm grove of Agdz (accommodation in a very comfortable mini-suite).

Drâa Valley-Taroudant
Scenic route in the Atlas towards Taroudant. We leave the Azul kasbah in the morning passing through two very interesting cities: Tazenakht, carpet capital and Taliouine, saffron capital.
Upon arrival at our destination in Taroudant, the Dar Al Houssoun hotel welcomes us with open arms (luxury accommodation with swimming pool).

What I love about travel is that moment when you leave the obvious path. That's when the landscape shifts, but more importantly, so does your perspective.
