Maya Bay

This is undoubtedly a beach you know of, even if you've never set foot on its sands! Made world-famous by the film 'The Beach' starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Maya Bay captivates with its paradisal scenery. Ringed by towering limestone cliffs cloaked in dense jungle, the beach is caressed by crystal-clear turquoise waters.

Due to its popularity, the beach was forced to close for 4 years to limit damage from mass tourism, including coral reef degradation, water pollution, coastal erosion, and the disappearance of certain animal species. Today, visitors can once again access Maya Bay, though activities are restricted and swimming is prohibited.

Located on Phi Phi Leh island, you can visit Maya Bay on a boat tour or by renting private long tail boat services (traditional Thai wooden boats).

Long Beach

As its name suggests, Long Beach is an expansive stretch of sand on the southeast coast of Phi Phi Don. Renowned for its ultra-fine white sand and pristine waters, the beach is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful beaches of Koh Phi Phi. Beyond swimming, it's an excellent snorkeling spot. The bay sits adjacent to Shark Point, a diving and snorkeling site where reef sharks can be spotted alongside vibrant corals and tropical fish.

To reach Long Beach, you have two options: take a boat taxi from Tonsai (about 5–10 minutes) or embark on a short coastal hike from Tonsai along a scenic path (approximately 30 minutes).

Loh Ba Kao Beach

Looking for a paradisiacal yet peaceful beach on Koh Phi Phi? Head to Loh Ba Kao (also called Lo Bagao), a pristine and unspoiled beach distinguished by powdery sand and crystalline waters. A small village and some of the island's most luxurious accommodations grace this shore. Here, you'll undoubtedly find your own quiet corner to unwind. It's the perfect spot for a romantic getaway for two.

You can access it by boat taxi from Tonsai pier or Loh Dalum Bay. For the more adventurous, a hiking trail to the Koh Phi Phi viewpoints also leads to this beach.

Loh Lana Bay

Set on the west coast of Phi Phi Don, Loh Lana Bay stretches for 500 meters in a rectangular arc. Embraced by lush vegetation, this is a relatively quiet and serene beach where infrastructure is virtually non-existent. It's also an excellent snorkeling destination.

You can reach this picturesque beach by boat taxi from Loh Dalum Beach or Tonsai pier. Hiking enthusiasts can access it via the Koh Phi Phi viewpoint trail.

Nui Beach

Located in the northern section of Phi Phi Don island, near Loh Dalum Beach, Nui Beach frequently tops travelers' wish lists. And with good reason: white sand, translucent turquoise waters, karst cliffs, lush vegetation, and rocks jutting from the sea... Pure escapism guaranteed!

Because of its stunning beauty, the beach attracts many visitors. Don't expect solitude. The easiest access is by taxi boat from Loh Dalum or Loh Lana, or via a hiking trail from Loh Ba Kao Bay.

Laem Tong

Located at the northern tip of Koh Phi Phi's main island (Phi Phi Don), Laem Tong Beach possesses all the ingredients of a paradise shore: powdery white sand, turquoise and crystal-clear waters, swaying coconut palms. Above all, the atmosphere invites pure relaxation and tranquility, with minimal infrastructure.

This hidden gem has remained unspoiled precisely because it's not easily accessible. You can reach it by boat: either a boat taxi or shuttle boat from Tonsai (multiple departures daily). For the more determined, the Koh Phi Phi viewpoint trail also leads here.

Monkey Beach

Located northwest of Loh Dalam Bay on Ko Phi Phi Don island, Monkey Beach (not to be confused with Monkey Bay) ranks among Koh Phi Phi's must-visit beaches. It's indeed one of the main stops on most boat tours around the archipelago. And no wonder—numerous monkeys (macaques) have made it their home.

As you might guess, Monkey Beach isn't the ideal spot for sunbathing (there's almost no sand at high tide), but it's a delightful stop for primate-watching. Reach it via an organized tour, private boat taxi, or kayaking from Loh Dalum Beach (about 40 minutes).

Loh Dalum Beach

Situated across the port and Ton Sai Beach (where all boats and ferries dock) on Phi Phi Don island, Loh Dalum Beach is one of Koh Phi Phi's most accessible beaches. A simple 10-minute walk from Ton Sai brings you there. You'll love its stunning views of the island's karst mountains and lush vegetation.

It's a relatively peaceful beach by day, though not ideal for swimming due to shallow waters (especially at low tide). That said, it's perfect for a family dip with children. As the sun sets, the beach transforms into a vibrant hub of entertainment, complete with various activities like fire shows.

Bamboo Island

Also known as Koh Mai Phai, Bamboo Island is an isle in the archipelago's northeast. It measures just 4 km long and 1.5 km wide! Unlike most Koh Phi Phi islands, this one is flat: no dramatic karst formations puncture the landscape. Interestingly, it owes its name to a misnomer—no bamboo actually graces its shores.

Here you'll discover magnificent paradise beaches perfect for leisurely repose. The waters surrounding the island are also famed as excellent snorkeling spots. To get there, boat travel is the only option (expect 40–60 minutes from Tonsai).
