Le Charme
Le Charme
Boutique hotel 1 km from Sukhothai Historic Park: 65 rooms in Thai villas, lotus gardens, herbal spa and bicycles to reach the temples.
Just 1 km from the Sukhothai Historic Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Le Charme hotel sits on grounds dotted with lotus ponds and tropical gardens. Its Thai-style villas, 65 rooms and herbal spa make it a comfortable base for exploring the first capital of the Kingdom of Siam.
Why choose Le Charme in Sukhothai
Location is the first advantage: from the hotel, you can cycle to the archaeological park in just minutes, without relying on a taxi or tuk-tuk. This proximity transforms the Sukhothai experience, as the finest light on the ruins is captured early in the morning and late afternoon, when the tour buses have left the site.
The establishment presents itself as a characterful boutique hotel, rooted in local aesthetics: wooden villa architecture, teak furnishings, parquet floors and a colour palette inspired by Sukhothai art. An address that prioritizes regional identity over the standardized codes of international chains.
Atmosphere and setting
The grounds are designed like a small Thai village: paths between villas, blooming lotus ponds, frangipani and bougainvillea trees. The ambient sounds are those of frogs and birds, a stark contrast to the hustle of Sukhothai's newer town to the east. Evenings are perfect for a stroll through the gardens before dinner.
The spa offers Thai massages using herbal traditions, a regional practice that employs hot compresses made from local herbs. The pool, surrounded by lush vegetation, features a children's wading area, making the hotel well-suited for families.
The rooms
The 65 rooms are split into four categories:
- Superior: the entry level, air-conditioned with a private bathroom.
- Deluxe: more spacious with views over the gardens or ponds.
- Premier Deluxe: adds a bathtub to the bathroom.
- Family Suite: designed for family travel, also featuring a bathtub.
All are furnished with wooden pieces and parquet flooring, in a contemporary Thai spirit. Standard amenities are present: air conditioning, television, Wi-Fi and a small work area.

Dining and services
The restaurant offers a menu blending Thai cuisine with international dishes, with an emphasis on regional produce. Breakfast can be served in the gardens, while other meals are enjoyed on the main building's terrace.
On the practical side, the hotel provides bicycle rentals to reach the historic park, organizes airport transfers and can arrange taxis. Seminar rooms with capacities of 70 to 120 people are also available for groups.
Access and location
Sukhothai Airport is about 30 minutes' drive from the hotel. From Bangkok, long-distance buses serve the town daily (allow a night or a full day of travel). Once there, cycling remains the most pleasant way to travel between the hotel, the park and outlying temples such as Wat Si Chum or Wat Mahathat.
Don't miss if your stay coincides: the Sukhothai Mini Light & Sound show, held on the first Fridays of each month at Wat Sa Si temple. The play of light and musical staging tells the story of the kingdom against the backdrop of ancient ruins.
