What type of government does Cambodia have?
Cambodia is a constitutional monarchy, with King Norodom Sihamoni as head of state since 2004.
According to the Constitution, “The King reigns but does not govern.”
The country’s political life is dominated by the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), led by Hun Sen, who has held power since 1985 and served as Prime Minister continuously since 1998.
