Airlines serving Don Muang Airport are budget carriers. In other words, they often offer the most competitive prices. Note, however, that these carriers don't always include checked baggage in ticket prices. You'll need to pay additional fees to check your luggage.

How to get from Krabi Airport to Krabi city center?

Krabi International Airport (KBV) is located 13 km northeast of Krabi city, approximately 20 minutes by road. To reach the city center, you can take an airport shuttle.

Shuttles depart twice per hour heading to several drop-off points around the city including:

• Krabi Bus Terminal (Taladkao),

• Krabi city center,

• Klong Jilad Pier (ferry to Koh Phi Phi),

• Ao Nang Beach,

• Khao Kwang Beach, or

• Klong Muang.

Expect to pay less than €3 per trip and 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes of travel time depending on your final destination.

Getting to Krabi from Bangkok by bus

Looking for a more affordable option? Don't want to fly? Want to enjoy some scenery on your journey to Krabi? Then you can opt for the bus to reach Krabi from Bangkok.

Most bus companies operating the Bangkok-Krabi route depart from the Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai) or Bangkok's Northern Bus Terminal (Morchit or Mo Chit Bus Terminal). Among the most popular bus companies for this route are Transport Co and Lignite Tour. Note that some private companies also offer trips departing from their offices. While companies offer multiple trips daily, we highly recommend choosing a night bus. Not only will you save time, but you'll also save a night's hotel stay. Travel time by bus varies between 11 and 19 hours depending on the company. As for fares, expect between €18 and €35.

Once you arrive in Krabi, the bus drops passengers at Krabi Bus Terminal, located less than 3 km from the city center, roughly 5 minutes by car. You can then take a taxi to reach your final destination.

Getting to Krabi from Bangkok by train and bus

There's nothing quite like traveling by train to watch the scenery unfold before your eyes. The catch? There's no railway station in Krabi. The good news? It's still possible to reach Krabi by train from Bangkok. In fact, you can combine train and bus travel.

The first part of your journey is by train departing from Bangkok's Hua Lamphong Station heading to Surat Thani Station. The journey takes between 9 and 13 hours. For the rest of your trip, simply take a bus or minibus from Surat Thani Station to Krabi Bus Terminal. Allow 2 to 3 hours of travel time.

We recommend taking night train number 85 or 167. These depart Bangkok in the late afternoon and arrive in Surat Thani in the early morning. The schedules allow for quick connections with buses and minivans.

In total, the train and bus journey takes approximately 15 to 16 hours. Budget between €20 and €60 (depending on the train class chosen or whether you opt for daytime travel or a sleeper train) for the combined journey.
