Heritage and landscapes
Here, you will visit the Lin Family Residence and Garden. This gem of Qing architecture, built in the 19th century by a wealthy line of merchants, reveals pavilions with sculpted wood and poetic ponds that testify to the aristocratic art of living of yesteryear.
Banqiao → Lac Du Soleil Et De La Lune
Then head to the mountainous heart of the island to reach the enchanting shores of the Lac Du Soleil Et De La Lune (Sun Moon Lake).
Before heading along its emerald waters, a gourmet stop is a must to savor the legendary Ruby black tea (No. 18), an exceptional vintage with natural hints of cinnamon and fresh mint.
You will continue with a bike ride on the panoramic cycling path suspended above the lake, ranked among the most beautiful in the world.
In late afternoon, the Wenwu temple, a majestic colossus dedicated to the gods of Letters and War, offers a plunging view over the basin.
The ascent to the Ci'en pagoda — built by Chiang Kai-shek in tribute to his mother — rounds off the day: from its summit, the panorama over the lake set ablaze by the sunset is unforgettable.

Whispers of History and Sacred Masterpieces
At sunrise, the lake mists dissipate during a private cruise, offering a serene and intimate crossing along the water.
Lac Du Soleil Et De La Lune → Lugang
You then take the road along the west coast to Lugang, a former prosperous port city.
Strolling through its cobblestone streets like Ruyi Lane, you'll travel back in time between artisanal shops and traditional specialties.
The city is home to two spiritual treasures:
The Longshan temple, a model of architectural purity with its shaded courtyards and octagonal coffered dome
The Mazu temple, a fervent center dedicated to the protector of sailors.
This is where the Zushi temple stands, nicknamed the "Palace of Oriental Arts". Rebuilt under the direction of artist Li Mei-shu, this monument is an absolute masterpiece of Taïwan's heritage, famous for its openwork stone columns of unparalleled finesse and its carved wood with jeweler's precision.
