Arrival in Slovénie
Upon arrival at the airport, you pick up your rental vehicle and head west towards the magnificent Lake Bohinj. This first stage immerses you immediately in the peaceful and verdant atmosphere of the Julian Alps.
On the way, if you arrive early enough, make a stop in Radovljica. Stroll through its charming historic center, visit the Beekeeping Museum and taste local specialties, such as gingerbread or artisanal chocolate.
Then head towards Lake Bled, and climb up to the majestic Bled Castle
In the afternoon, board a traditional "pletna" boat, these unique boats found in Bled, propelled by oars by "pletnars" whose expertise has been passed down from father to son since the 16th century. On Bled Islandile-de-bled, climb the 99 steps (a lucky tradition!) up to the Church of the Assumption to ring the wishing bell – legend says your wish will come true.
For afternoon tea, we recommend the famous "kremšnita", an airy pastry cream between two crispy pastry sheets, a recipe jealously guarded since 1953 by the Park Hotel pastry shop. The view of the lake in the background makes this local treat even more sublime.
Then head to Bohinj and settle into your accommodation.
Bohinj, Preserved Natural Jewel
Today, discover Lake Bohinj, wilder and more authentic than its famous neighbor Lake Bled. Start by visiting the Church of St. John the Baptist whose medieval frescoes tell fascinating stories. A walk along the crystal-clear shores will allow you to appreciate the majestic calm of this site nestled in the embrace of the mountains.
Another suggestion is to take a walk to the Savica Waterfall. After a 20-minute hike through lush forest, discover this emblematic waterfall that gushes spectacularly from a cleft in the cliff. A source of inspiration for many Slovenian poets.
At lunchtime, take the Vogel cable car which will propel you to 1535m altitude in a few minutes. The contrast is striking: below the deep blue lake, above the immensity of the Julian Alps. At the top, a typical meal awaits you with an unobstructed view. To digest, we suggest you explore the marked trails that take you through flowering Alpine meadows and pine forests, where the scent of resin mingles with the pure mountain air.

Hiking to the Sources of the Soča
Start the day with a hike to the sources of the Soča, one of the natural jewels of the region. This short but enchanting trail leads you to a karst cave where the Soča River originates in brilliantly blue water. The peaceful setting and beauty of this place make it an unmissable experience for nature lovers.
Visit to Kluže Fortress
After the hike, head towards Kluže Fortress, an impressive historical site located above a canyon. Built in the 16th century and rebuilt during the Napoleonic Wars, this fortress played a strategic role during World War I.
