Bicycle tour in Rajasthan

After breakfast, departure for Jaipur. Upon arrival, transfer and check-in at the hotel. Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan, owes its nickname of "Pink City" to the pink paint that covers the buildings of the old town (among the Rajputs, the color pink symbolized hospitality).

Today, after having a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we begin our cycling tour in Rajasthan. We first start with an hour's drive in a vehicle that takes us into the countryside, where we unload our bikes before mounting them for our first day of adventure. During this adventure, we discover the beauty of nature and admire the lush green and brown hills dotted with small trees. The roads are known to be quiet but we still cross bicycles, carts and motorcycles. Today, a long and hard day awaits us. We travel the road eastward, crossing farms and small villages, to reach The village of Bhandarej dating from the 11th century. Our accommodation is not far away (15km), and with the rest of our energy we pedal to the Maharaja Palace (our lodging). Otherwise, if fatigue catches up with us, we can be taken there by vehicle. Night at the hotel.

Today, we travel through narrow roads across small villages, farms, fields and Hindu temples. It is a perfect opportunity to experience the lifestyle of villagers and discover their culture. We pass beautiful houses. The Brahmins belong to the highest caste rank in Inde.

Passing through these small villages, the children never fail to greet us, perched on the roof of the overcrowded buses.

We rejoin the main road before heading towards the city of Laslot. From there, we head towards the Ranthambore National Park, after loading our luggage into the vehicle for the last 50 kilometers. Ranthambore is a large wildlife reserve located near Sawai Madhopur. It was formerly a royal hunting ground and today it is home to tigers, leopards and marsh crocodiles. There are also many other species such as jackals, hyenas, cheetahs, wild bears and leopards. We spend the night at the hotel.

Today, we begin the day with great enthusiasm and prepare ourselves for a Safari at Ranthambore National Park where we can admire wildlife up close. Ranthambore is one of the most beautiful national parks in Asia where you can observe Bengal tigers in their natural habitat. The Chambal River forms the natural boundary of Ranthambore Park to the east. On the eastern bank of Chambal is the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

After our safari, we leave the lush forest behind and get on our bikes to take the narrow tarmac road. We pass through picturesque villages and cultivated fields. We stop to visit a beautiful palace along the way. Finally, we arrive in the charming town of Karauli, an ancient holy city decorated with blue-colored houses. We have enough time to explore this small town before starting a bike ride of approximately 30 km / 2 to 3 hours of travel. 2 hours drive.

Today, we head north through hills, villages and towns with as much excitement as ever. This day is perfect for admiring the region, interacting with locals and better understanding their way of life. Along the way we discover mystic landscapes formed by cultivated fields in which we can observe peasants working. These daily life scenes will certainly ensure authentic memories during your trip. We then head to our hotel by car. If we still have the energy, we can visit the Keoladeo National Park, located nearby. It is formerly known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary of Bharatpur. Indeed, more than 230 species of resident birds live in the park. It is also a major tourist center for ornithologists who often visit the park during the winter season. To preserve wildlife, bicycles are the only means of transport allowed in the park. Bike tour over approximately 75 km / 5 to 6 hours. Approximately 1 hour drive.

Today, we are heading towards the capital of the Mughal Empire. We first stop at Mughals. The architecture of Fatehpur Sikri comes from a typically Indian style. The style used is also composed of a blend of both Indian and Muslim styles. A rich style that symbolizes a perfect fusion between indigenous and foreign cultures of origin. Fatehpur Sikri was founded in 1569 by Mughal Emperor Akbar. The city became the capital of the Mughal Empire between 1571 and 1585, before being abandoned. Its well-preserved sandstone buildings are composed of mosques, palaces and dwellings. They give a distinctive vision of this great civilization.

After taking a few photos, we load our bikes onto the vehicle and continue towards an emblematic city that is home to one of the seven wonders of the world: the Taj Mahal. Agra spans a large bend along the sacred Yamuna river. It is a magnificent and modern city primarily known for the Taj Mahal. We will have the opportunity to see this magnificent monument the next day. We spend the night at the hotel. Bike tour: approximately 45km / 3 to 4 hours.

We wake up early to witness the sunrise over the magnificent Taj Mahal. This visit is a highlight of our itinerary. This unique monument was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz, in the 17th century. The Taj Mahal epitomizes beauty. Taj displays its different features through its varied nuances. We take advantage of the surroundings for an extended time and relax in this particular and peaceful atmosphere.

After the visit, we return to Delhi. Upon arrival, we have the opportunity to visit the local bazaars of Delhi for last-minute shopping before flying to our next destination.
