After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a free morning to relax and start the day at your own pace.

Depending on your preferences, you can simply enjoy the surroundings, take some rest, or spend a quiet time before exploring local life.
You then head out (approximately 20 minutes) towardsPointe.

There, enjoy a free stroll through the city: you wander through the streets and discover its colorful markets, renowned for their local flavors and their Creole crafts stalls, a wonderful introduction to the Guadeloupe atmosphere.

Then head to the maritime station to board a shuttle heading to Marie.

The crossing (approximately 1 hour) allows you to reach this island at a slower pace, while enjoying a first glimpse of the maritime setting of the archipelago.

Upon arrival, you pick up your vehicle and head to your accommodation to settle in at your leisure.

This first time on the island allows you to get your bearings and soak in the atmosphere of Marie-Galante, which is calmer and more authentic.

Guadeloupe is a French overseas department and region, territory of the European Union. As such, no special formalities are required for nationals of the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland.

These travelers can enter Guadeloupe with a valid passport or national identity card. The document must be in good condition (no damaged, torn, or altered pages).

Tourist stay for Canadian nationals

Canadian nationals enter Guadeloupe under the rules applicable to entry into French territory and the Schengen area. They benefit from visa exemption for tourist stays.

This exemption allows a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period in the Schengen area. The passport must be valid for at least three months after the planned end date of the stay and have at least one blank page.

The authorities may also request:

  • an exit ticket from the territory (return or onward flight),

  • proof of sufficient financial resources for the duration of the stay,

  • an accommodation booking or a residential address on site.

Guadeloupe is a tropical destination where certain health precautions are recommended:

  • Yellow fever vaccination is not mandatory to enter Guadeloupe, except in case of arrival from a country at risk.

  • Diseases transmitted by mosquitoes such as dengue, chikungunya, and Zika may be present. The use of repellents and protective clothing is strongly advised.

  • It is recommended to consult a doctor or vaccination center before departure for a personalized assessment.

Traveling with children

Minors must hold their own valid identity document (passport or, for EEA nationals, national identity card).

When a minor travels without one of their parents, an authorization to leave the territory may be required according to the regulations of their country of residence.
