Split - Starigrad
Upon arrival at the Split airport, pick up your rental vehicle to begin your adventure.
Head towards Starigrad, admiring the stunning coastal landscapes of Dalmatia along the way.
Once you arrive in Starigrad, let yourself be charmed by this peaceful little town, renowned for its tranquil atmosphere and proximity to the Paklenica National Park.
Visit its picturesque harbor, stroll along the sea and enjoy local specialties in a waterfront restaurant, where fresh fish and seafood dishes are among the must-haves.
Hiking in Paklenica National Park
For this first day of exploration, venture into the Paklenica National Park, a paradise for hiking enthusiasts.
Start with a hike in the impressive Paklenica Gorges, where two main trails are available to you:
Hiking to Velika Paklenica (800 m elevation gain): This trail follows the valley and offers a well-marked route. Taking 4 to 5 hours, this easy to moderate hike allows you to discover spectacular landscapes, between imposing cliffs and lush forests.
Hiking to Mala Paklenica (450 m elevation gain): Shorter, this approximately 3-hour hike is equally impressive, with magnificent panoramas over the gorges and surrounding mountains.
The park's trails are perfectly marked, with information panels throughout the route to guide hikers and enrich their experience.
Ascent of Sveto Brdo – Paklenica
To extend your visit to the park, attempt the ascent of Sveto Brdo, which peaks at 1,752 meters, one of the most popular summits in Paklenica National Park.
This moderate to difficult hike starts in the Velika Paklenica gorge and offers an elevation gain of 980 meters. The trail crosses lush forests and rocky areas, requiring good endurance and suitable equipment.
Estimated duration: 5 to 6 hours of hiking.
Tips: The trail is well marked, but due to its demanding nature, it is essential to bring sturdy hiking boots and a sufficient amount of water.
Once at the summit, you will be rewarded with a spectacular view of the Velebit massif and, in the distance, the Adriatic Sea, a breathtaking panorama that fully justifies the effort.
Outdoor Activity at Paklenica and Discovery of Biokovo

For this third day in the Paklenica national park, several activities are available to you to continue exploring the natural wonders of the region:
Canyoning or rafting: Set off on an adventure in the Paklenica gorges with a canyoning or rafting excursion. A sporty and refreshing way to explore rivers and canyons while admiring spectacular landscapes.
Horseback riding: For a quieter experience, opt for a horseback ride in the surrounding mountains. An ideal activity to reconnect with nature while discovering enchanting panoramas.
Hiking: Explore the Mala Paklenica valley heading towards the Vaganski Vrh pass (730 m elevation gain). This somewhat more isolated and wild hike will take you through untouched landscapes with stunning views over the Velebit mountains and the Mala Paklenica valley.

In late afternoon, take the road to reach the Biokovo Natural Park, located approximately two hours away. This park, nestled near the coast and the superb city of Makarska, invites you to discover grand landscapes and unspoiled nature.
Hiking in Biokovo Natural Park
This morning, set off to explore the Biokovo Natural Park, renowned for its mountainous landscapes and breathtaking panoramas over the Adriatic Sea. An unforgettable hike will take you to the summit of Sveti Jure, the highest point in the park at 1,762 meters altitude.
Hike to Sveti Jure (1200 m elevation gain)
Departure: Makar village
Duration: Approximately 5 to 6 hours of climbing
Difficulty: Demanding, due to the elevation gain and distance
Highlights: Well-marked trail offering spectacular views of the Adriatic Sea and Dalmatian islands throughout the route.
Tips: Prepare yourself with suitable hiking boots, a good supply of water and sun protection. Although the summit is sometimes shrouded in clouds, in clear weather, the panoramas are simply breathtaking.
At the end of the day, return to your accommodation for a well-deserved evening of rest.
Exploration of the Biokovo Surroundings
Today, opt for a shorter hike, but just as captivating.
Hike around Vošac
Join the village of Vošac, perched at approximately 1,300 meters altitude, for a panoramic hike. This trail, more accessible than the ascent of Sveti Jure, offers spectacular views of the Dalmatian coast and the city of Makarska.
Duration: Approximately 3 to 4 hours
Difficulty: Moderate, ideal for enjoying the landscapes without too much effort
Highlights: Impressive views of the Adriatic Sea and surroundings, perfect for photography enthusiasts.
If you prefer a more peaceful activity, explore the picturesque villages in the region to discover their authentic charm, or head to Makarska beach for a moment of relaxation by the water.
End this day according to your wishes, between nature and relaxation.
Return to Split via Omis
This morning, take the road towards Split, with a stop in Omiš, a charming town located approximately 1.5 hours away.
Explore the magnificent Cetina River Gorges, where you can:
Take a peaceful walk along the river.
Visit the Mirabella Fortress, which offers breathtaking views of the town, the sea and the surrounding mountains.
Continue your journey to Split and spend the end of the day discovering this iconic city:
Stroll through the historic streets of the Palace of Diocletian, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Walk along the Riva, the lively seafront promenade.
Visit a few local museums to immerse yourself in the city's rich culture.
At the end of the day, head to Otok Čiovo for one last evening by the sea. Enjoy a moment of relaxation with a swim or a stroll, and savor dinner featuring local specialties to conclude this stay beautifully.

Passeport
Les ressortissants de l'Espace économique européen peuvent entrer en Croatie avec un passeport ou une carte d'identité nationale en cours de validité. Le document doit être en bon état (pas de pages détériorées, déchirées ou modifiées).
Les ressortissants suisses et canadiens doivent être munis d'un passeport valide. Il est recommandé que celui-ci soit valide au minimum trois mois après la date de fin de séjour prévue et comporte au moins une page vierge pour les tampons d'immigration.
Séjour touristique sans visa
Les ressortissants de l'Espace économique européen, de la Suisse et du Canada bénéficient d'une exemption de visa pour les séjours touristiques en Croatie.
La Croatie est membre de l'espace Schengen depuis le 1er janvier 2023. Les séjours des ressortissants canadiens et suisses sont soumis à la règle Schengen, soit 90 jours maximum sur toute période de 180 jours dans l'ensemble de l'espace Schengen. Les ressortissants de l'EEE ne sont pas soumis à cette limitation.
Les autorités peuvent demander :
un billet de sortie du territoire (vol retour ou continuation),
une preuve de ressources financières suffisantes pour la durée du séjour.
Enregistrement auprès des autorités locales
Tout voyageur séjournant en Croatie est tenu de s'enregistrer auprès des autorités locales dans les 24 heures suivant son arrivée. En pratique, cette démarche est généralement effectuée directement par l'hébergeur (hôtel, agence de location, etc.).
En cas d'hébergement chez un particulier, il appartient à l'hôte ou au voyageur de procéder à cet enregistrement, notamment via le système en ligne eVisitor mis en place par les autorités croates.
