The Secrets of the Magical Forest
We meet on Saturday morning at Nemours Saint Pierre station (1 hour 10 minutes from Paris Gare de Lyon) to meet Captain Sylvain and the other families. A short van transfer takes us to the heart of the medieval village of Larchant.
From there, we set off on foot, with a quick stop at the village's lovely bakery-café to start the day off right.
We begin our adventures with a walk through the beautiful Eléphant massif forest surrounded by sandstone boulders, white sand and Scots pines. Along the way we explore various caves, some of which bear traces of the hunter-gatherer artists who lived there nearly 10,000 years ago!
We have our meal under majestic trees sitting on soft moss carpets of different species.
The afternoon is dedicated to discovering climbing on blocks with extraordinary shapes and with appropriate equipment. From beginners to experts, from toddlers to teens and adults, there's something for everyone, all tastes and all levels.
A few outdoor games (molki, slackline, ball or frisbee) are available to finish the afternoon before heading to the bivouac site nearby.
Setting up tipis, installing sleeping areas, preparing meals with a large selection of organic and local products from the village and we're ready for a wonderful evening under the stars.
To the sounds of owls and other night birds, it will be time to drift off to sleep!

Buddies of the Woods, Friends of the Forests
After a night in the heart of nature we have breakfast at the bivouac with great products prepared by the wonderful team of young bakers and bakers from the village.
This morning Captain Sylvain sends us to explore the forest. After explaining how it works, off we go as a family, equipped with a compass and a map for an orienteering session in search of a few hidden gems in the heart of the forest. Comfortable quarry shelters, miraculous fountain, a giant piece of Gruyère cheese and even Mont Blanc!
Once we've all regrouped, we have our picnic on a plateau overlooking the massif.
For the afternoon, children and adults can choose their activities between discovering fauna and flora, building cabins or free play. The goal is to fully enjoy nature before returning to the city or at least to daily life.
The sun is setting on the horizon? Unfortunately that's a sign it's time to head back home! A short 15-minute van ride will take us back to St Pierre les Nemours Station for a joyful goodbye with the promise to stay in touch and come back for some fresh air in this vast forest!
