Do I need a specific vaccine to travel to Turkey?
No vaccines are mandatory for Turkey, except yellow fever if you're coming from sub-Saharan Africa or Latin America. Universal vaccinations (DTP, MMR) and hepatitis A are strongly recommended.
Mandatory vaccines
Turkey does not require any mandatory vaccines for travelers. The only exception: the yellow fever vaccine is required for travelers coming from sub-Saharan African and Latin American countries where this disease is present.
Recommended vaccines
- Universal vaccinations: check that your DTP (diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis) and MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccines are up to date.
- Hepatitis A: strongly recommended for all travelers.
- Hepatitis B and typhoid: advised for extended stays or in rural areas.
Advice from our local agency
Consult an international vaccination center 4 to 8 weeks before departure for a personalized assessment. Also take out travel insurance covering medical expenses and medical repatriation.
