Day-by-day itinerary
Immersion in As-Salt, historical gem near Amman
After breakfast, departure for As-Salt, located 25 km from Amman. This city, known in Roman times as Saltus, experienced its golden age in the Middle Ages. It still contains the ruins of an Ayyubid fortress dating from the early 13th century.
Visit to the city of Salt
Discovery of Al-Hammam Street, the oldest and most lively street in the city, named after a Turkish bath. This narrow pedestrian street winds around the hill, lined with buildings in traditional Ottoman stone dating back 150 years.
Exploration of the old souks, filled with the scents of spices and vibrant colors. A stroll through the city center to admire the Ottoman houses of the 19th century, recognizable by their varied hues and characteristic windows. Among them, the Abu Jaber house, located on the main square, once belonged to a wealthy Ottoman merchant.
Lunch with a local family in As-Salt
Umm Omar, a resident of As-Salt, has been preparing homemade jams and other local products since childhood. She learned alongside her grandmother, who used seasonal fruits and vegetables to make various jams. Lunch with a local meal.
Return to Amman and visit of the capital
Return to Amman, a city located between the Eastern desert and the Jordan Valley. Entirely built in beige white limestone, it is composed of a collection of cream-colored cubes, gilded by the sun. From the citadel, there is a superb view over the lower city. Before descending there, visit the Archaeological Museum, the Temple of Hercules and the Umayyad Palace.
Stroll through the lower city, which houses a Greco-Roman Theatre capable of accommodating approximately six thousand spectators.
Return to the hotel for dinner and the night.
Journey Through Time – From Jerash to Ajloun
Discovery of Jerash, the preserved Roman city
Breakfast at the hotel then departure for Jerash, located approximately 45 km from Amman.
Also called Gerasa, this ancient city is the second largest archaeological site in Jordanie after Petra. Buried under sand for centuries, it was restored over 70 years. Its pinkish-orange limestone reaches its full splendor at dawn and dusk. At its peak in the 2nd and 3rd centuries, it embodies Roman municipal planning with its paved streets lined with colonnades, majestic temples, theaters, public squares, baths and fountains.
Lunch, then drive to Ajloun and its fortress
After lunch, head to Ajloun to discover Qalaat al Rabad, an impressive fortress built in the 12th century under Saladin. It served to defend the region, control local iron mines and repel the Crusaders. From the top, exceptional panoramic views over the Jordan Valley.
On the Kings' Road – From Madaba to Petra
Discovery of Madaba, the city of mosaics
After breakfast, departure towards the Kings' Road to visit Madaba, famous for its Byzantine mosaics. This city, which once had 14 churches, housed a renowned school of mosaicists whose art reached its peak in the 5th and 6th centuries.
Visit to the Church of Saint George, where the famous "Map of Palestine" is located, a 6th-century mosaic discovered in 1898. With an original size of 25 meters by 5 meters and composed of two million tesserae, it represents the geography of the Byzantine Near East.
Mount Nebo, in the footsteps of Moses
10 km northwest of Madaba, climb to Mount Nebo (840 m), the presumed site of Moses' tomb. According to biblical tradition (Deuteronomy 34:1, 4-5), it was from this summit that Moses beheld the Promised Land before his death. This place became an important pilgrimage site from the beginning of the Christian era.
The Kerak Fortress, a Crusader Stronghold
Continuing towards Kerak, a city whose Wadi Kerak valley was a strategic access route to Palestine. The Kerak fortress was built in 1142 by Pagan the Butler, under the reign of Fulk of Anjou, the third Frankish ruler of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. In 1176, it passed into the hands of Reynald of Châtillon, former lord of Antioch. Following the Crusaders' defeat at Hattin in 1187, Jerusalem was taken by Saladin, and Reynald was executed. Kerak fell in 1189 after a prolonged siege led by Saladin against Reynald's widow.
Petra, the Rose City of the Desert
Breakfast followed by immersion in the ancient Nabataean capital, Petra, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered the eighth wonder of the world.
The name Petra comes from Greek, but derives from the Aramaic toponym "RQM" (pronounced Rekem or Rakmou), meaning "two-colored". This designation refers to the hues of the rock, a soft sandstone sculpted by nature and mankind over millennia. Occupied for more than 10,000 years, the city took its definitive form between the 3rd century BC and the 2nd century AD, today comprising nearly 800 monuments spread over 100 km².
Exploration of the legendary site
Entry into Petra is through the Siq, a narrow and winding gorge, formed as a result of a prehistoric earthquake. At the end of the passage, Al Khazneh (The Treasury) reveals itself, majestic with its imposing Greco-Roman façade.
Beyond the Treasury, Petra unveils a multitude of wonders: Royal Tombs, temples, cave dwellings, burial chambers, banqueting halls, baths, monumental staircases, arched gates, paved streets and an impressive Roman theatre capable of accommodating approximately 3,000 spectators. Crossing the Roman Cardo leads to Qasr El Bint, the only temple still standing, remarkably well preserved.

In the afternoon, possibility of ascending Mount El Deir, where the Monastery is located, followed by free time to explore at your own pace.

From Little Petra to the Grandiose Landscapes of Wadi Rum
After breakfast, departure for Little Petra, also called Siq Al Barid.
Route to the Wadi Rum desert
Continuation towards the Wadi Rum, a majestic desert where nature has sculpted cliffs, peaks and valleys of striking beauty. Unlike Petra, shaped by man and nature, Wadi Rum owes all its splendor to its unique rock formations.
T. E. Lawrence described this desert as "vast, resonant with echoes and marked by the presence of the divine", a dreamlike landscape where absolute silence reigns. This emblematic site of the Great Arab Revolt was immortalized on film in Lawrence of Arabia by David Lean.
Exploration by 4x4 in the desert
Tour in a local 4x4 pick-up truck for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to explore the wonders of Wadi Rum.
Lunch and night in a Bedouin camp
Lunch break in a Bedouin camp, then accommodation in traditional tents for an authentic immersion in the desert.

Unique experience on the shores of the Dead Sea
Wadi Rum → Dead sea
Breakfast at the camp, then departure via the Araba road towards the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on the planet, located at 1,306 feet below sea level.
Relaxation and swimming in salt waters
Surrounded by mountains to the east and the hills of Jerusalem to the west, the Dead Sea offers an almost unreal landscape. According to biblical tradition, this region is said to have been home to five legendary cities: Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboim and Zoar.

Passport
To enter Jordan, your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into the country and have at least two blank pages for immigration stamps.
The document must be in good condition (no damaged, torn, or altered pages).
Tourist stay: visa on arrival
Nationals of the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and Canada can obtain a tourist visa on arrival at Amman's Queen Alia International Airport as well as at the main land and maritime entry points.
This visa allows a stay of up to 30 days. It is possible to request an extension from Jordanian immigration services on site to extend your stay duration.
The authorities may also request:
an exit ticket from the territory (return or onward flight),
proof of sufficient financial resources for the duration of your stay.
It is also possible to obtain a Jordanian visa in advance online via the official e-Visa portal (e-Visa) established by Jordanian authorities.
Jordan Pass
The Jordan Pass is an official package established by the Jordanian government that combines entry visa and access to over 40 tourist sites, including the archaeological site of Petra.
By purchasing the Jordan Pass before your arrival, visa fees are included in the pass price, provided you stay a minimum of three nights in Jordan. The pass must be purchased online before arrival in the country.
Traveling with children
Minors must hold their own valid passport covering the duration of the stay.
In some European countries, when a minor travels without one of their parents, an exit authorization from the territory may be required according to the regulations of the country of residence.
Health and vaccines
No vaccine is mandatory to enter Jordan from the EEA, Switzerland, or Canada. It is nevertheless recommended to ensure that routine vaccinations are up to date (diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis, hepatitis A and B).
