Departure for Mendoza
Head to Mendoza, at the foot of the Andes, for a stop dedicated to wine and the Argentine art of living. In its high-altitude vineyards, bathed in sunshine and irrigated by glacial meltwater, Malbec holds a place of honor.
The region brings together wineries with contemporary architecture, gastronomic restaurants and spas in the heart of the vineyards. Horseback rides facing Aconcagua offer another way to appreciate its landscapes.

Three free days in Mendoza, between vineyards and the Andes

The Quebrada de Humahuaca in freedom
With your English-speaking guide, you spend two days discovering Northwestern Argentina. Departing from Salta, you traverse wild valleys, multicolored mountains and Andean villages, in landscapes that change throughout your journey.
You pass through San Salvador de Jujuy, then Purmamarca, before continuing towards Tilcara and the Quebrada de Humahuaca. Each stop allows you to discover the Andean traditions and pre-Columbian heritage that define the region.
These two days give you time to enjoy the landscapes and make stops in the villages. Interactions with the local people punctuate this discovery, conducted at your own pace, close to local life.
In the heart of multicolored mountains
Driving
You resume your journey through Northwestern Argentina and gradually gain altitude until reaching Salinas Grandes. At the foot of the Andean mountains, this vast expanse of salt reveals a white surface that contrasts with the surrounding landscape.
After this stop in the midst of mineral scenery, you descend towards greener valleys. You then reach Salta, the final leg of this loop traveled in complete freedom.
On the Road to Molinos
Driving
From Salta, take the road south in your vehicle to discover the Calchaquí valleys. The route crosses the Cuesta del Obispo, passes through high-altitude landscapes then the Los Cardones National Park, before reaching Cachi, surrounded by mountains and large cacti.
You then continue to Molinos, a former colonial village that retains a peaceful atmosphere and preserved heritage. Between arid landscapes, traditional villages and traces of Andean cultures, this leg allows you to discover a quieter and less frequented facet of the Northwest Argentina.
Route to Cafayate, between Calchaquí valleys and vineyards
Molinos → Cafayate
After Molinos and Cachi, continue your journey to Cafayate, through the Calchaquí valleys. Colorful rock formations and canyons punctuate the route, before giving way to the vineyards surrounding the town.
At the heart of the wine route of Northwestern Argentina, Cafayate is renowned for its high-altitude wines, particularly Torrontés. Take advantage of this stop to visit a few wineries, taste local wines and discover a terroir shaped by the sun, the mountains and winemaking traditions.
This stage concludes your loop between mineral landscapes, villages and discovery of the region's wines.
Return to Salta
Cafayate → Salta
After exploring the Calchaquíes valleys and discovering the high-altitude vineyards of Cafayate, you head back towards Salta. You continue to enjoy the distinctive landscapes of Northwestern Argentina, then the scenery gradually becomes greener as you approach the city.
Your return to Salta marks the end of this southern loop, between discovery of landscapes, local heritage and Argentine terroirs.
Return to Buenos Aires
After your discovery of the Northwestern Argentina, you fly from Salta to Buenos Aires. You rediscover the hustle and elegance of the capital for a new stage of your journey.

Passport
To enter Argentina, your passport must be valid for the entire duration of your planned stay and contain at least one blank page for immigration stamps.
The document must be in good condition (no damaged, torn, or altered pages).
Tourist stay without a visa
Nationals of the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and Canada benefit from visa exemption for tourist stays in Argentina.
This exemption allows for a stay of up to 90 days from the date of entry into the country. An extension of an additional 90 days can generally be requested on site at the Argentine National Immigration Authority.
Authorities may also request:
an exit ticket from the country (return flight or onward travel),
proof of sufficient financial resources for the duration of your stay,
an accommodation address in Argentine territory.
Health and vaccinations
No vaccination is mandatory to enter Argentina from Europe or Canada. However, certain vaccinations are recommended depending on the regions you visit:
the yellow fever vaccine is recommended for travelers heading to the tropical zones in the north of the country (Misiones, Formosa, Chaco, and Jujuy provinces);
updating routine vaccinations (diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis, measles) is advised.
It is recommended to consult a doctor or an international vaccination center before departure.
Traveling with children
Minors must hold their own valid passport covering the duration of the stay.
When a minor travels without one or both parents, a notarized parental authorization may be required by Argentine authorities at entry or exit. It is strongly advised to check beforehand with the competent Argentine consulate.
