The spirit of travel
The longtail boat cuts through the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea while a monk in a saffron robe crosses the paved courtyard of Wat Pho. From bustling Bangkok to the misty hills of the Golden Triangle, this journey draws a Thailand with many faces.
The adventure begins in the hustle and bustle of the floating markets of Damnoen Saduak, where female vendors in straw hats negotiate from their colorful boats. Ayutthaya then reveals its forgotten temples, silent witnesses to the ancient kingdom of Siam. In the North, Chiang Rai fascinates with its contemporary temples – the immaculate Wat Rong Khun and the Wat Rong Sua Ten with deep blues – while Chiang Mai invites you to cycle through its peaceful streets between artisan workshops and golden sanctuaries. The tea plantations of Mae Salong tell the story of Chinese refugees, and the Kok River winds through preserved nature where Karen and Akha mountain communities still live.
The descent towards Krabi marks the transition to another setting: limestone cliffs sculpted by erosion, secret lagoons accessible only at low tide, and this bioluminescent plankton that transforms every nocturnal movement into an aquatic constellation. This Thailand, far from the beaten path, reveals the true soul of the kingdom where Theravada Buddhism and art of living have intertwined for centuries.
The stages of your journey
Highlights
Day-by-day itinerary

Welcome and free visit of Bangkok
Upon arrival at Bangkok International Airport, you will be welcomed by our team and transferred to our hotel. Rooms will be available from 2:00 PM. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Depending on your arrival time, you may explore our neighborhood, discover the first flavors of Thai cuisine, wander through the lively streets or simply relax at the hotel.

A dive into the heart of Bangkok
Accompanied by your guide, you head to the docks and board a public water bus. Along the waterway, you travel upstream towards the historic center, on the right bank, until you reach the flower market at Pak Khlong Talat. Stroll through the fragrant aisles and immerse yourself for the first time in authentic and traditional Asia.
We set out to discover the architectural jewels of Bangkok. Let us marvel at the splendor of the Grand Palace of Bangkok, built in 1782: a sumptuous complex of buildings and inner courtyards, including Wat Phra Kaeo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha). We discover there the famous Emerald Buddha, a precious statue dating from the 14th century, at the heart of one of the most revered sanctuaries in the country.
Then, on foot, we reach Wat Pho, one of Bangkok's oldest temples, renowned for its peaceful atmosphere and elegant pavilions. We discover the impressive Reclining Buddha, an iconic figure of the place, as well as the inner courtyards dotted with stupas and refined decorative details.
Next, we cross the river on board a small boat to reach Wat Arun, the famous "Temple of Dawn", standing on the right bank. Upon arrival, we can admire its spectacular central prang, finely decorated with porcelain mosaics and floral patterns that sparkle in the light.
A ride aboard a traditional private "long-tail" boat on the Chao Praya river, one of the country's most important waterways and a vital artery of Bangkok. As we travel along the water, we discover the "Venice of the Orient", with its peaceful klongs, stilt houses and small temples hidden along the banks.

On the Markets of Thailand
Bangkok → Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
Departure from Bangkok to reach the famous Damnoen Saduak floating market one of the most emblematic in Thailand: a colorful, lively and gastronomic break.
Aboard a small boat, you glide along the narrow canals and observe the market life flowing with the water: stalls laden with tropical fruits, small shops, boats crossing in a lively atmosphere. You take the opportunity to taste a few specialties, stroll around, haggle if you wish, and leave with a few typical souvenirs.
Continuation with the visit of the Wat Bang Kung (Kai Bang Kung), commonly called the Banyan Tree Temple, since its chapel was covered by the roots and branches of a banyan tree. In its gardens, we can notably observe life-size representations of wrestlers, commemorating the Battle of Ayutthaya between Thailand and Burma at the end of the 13th century.
We don't leave Amphawa without stopping at the Mae Klong market, also called "market on the tracks". Here, several times a day, the stalls set up right at the rails fold up in just a few seconds as the train passes… before taking their place again as if nothing had happened. An astonishing scene, perfectly orchestrated, which reflects the daily life and ingenuity of local merchants. (Train passes at 3:30 PM).
Maeklong Railway Market → Bangkok
We then continue on towards Bangkok, after a day marked by the most emblematic markets of the region.

A Journey Through Time in Ayutthaya
We set out to discover the Bang Pa In Royal Palace, a former royal summer residence built in the 17th century. Abandoned after the fall of Ayutthaya, the site was completely restored and enlarged in the mid-19th century by King Rama V, who made it a privileged retreat.
At the heart of elegantly landscaped gardens, you discover a harmonious ensemble of pavilions featuring Thai, European and Chinese influences, reflecting the kingdom's openness during that era. A peaceful visit offering a refined glimpse into the royal history of Siam.
From the palace, you reach Ayutthaya by traditional boat heading up the river. As you drift along the water, you observe daily life unfolding on the banks: wooden houses on stilts, village scenes, and barges laden with rice gliding slowly towards Bangkok warehouses. Gradually, the silhouettes of temples appear, their spires cutting across the horizon.
You arrive at Ayutthaya, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, whose remains tell of past grandeur.
After lunch, we set off to explore the historic center of Ayutthaya. We notably explore the Wat Mahathat, a major temple dating from the late 14th century, famous for the Buddha's head entwined in the roots of a tree, which has become one of the site's symbols.
The visit continues to the Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, a former royal temple and the largest in the ancient capital, recognizable by its elegant aligned chedis that testify to the past grandeur of the kingdom.
Finally, we discover the Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, renowned for its impressive reclining Buddha and peaceful atmosphere, offering a beautiful conclusion to this immersion into the heart of Siam's history.

Chiang Rai, at the gateway to the Golden Triangle
Your driver takes you to the airport for your domestic flight.
You board your flight to Chiang Rai, a peaceful province in northern Thailand renowned for its misty mountains, lush valleys and more intimate atmosphere. Between singular temples, traditional villages and tea plantations, this region located at the gates of the Golden Triangle offers a more authentic and peaceful discovery of northern Thailand.
We begin this day in Chiang Rai with the discovery of the extraordinary Wat Rong Khun, better known as the "White Temple". Created by Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, this site blends Buddhist architecture and contemporary art through surprising frescoes and numerous symbols inspired by Buddhism and popular culture. Its dazzling white color gives it an almost unreal atmosphere.
Continuation towards the Wat Rong Sua Ten, the famous "blue temple", designed by a disciple of Chalermchai. Its deep blue hues, naga sculptures and immense Buddha give it an atmosphere that is both mystical and modern.
We end the day at Wat Huay Pla Kang, known for its enormous white statue representing Guanyin, the goddess of Mercy. Its nine-story pagoda offers a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside and rice fields.

The Golden Triangle
Chiang Rai → Berges du Mékong
Early in the morning, we meet up with our accompanying team before heading towards the Golden Triangle and the banks of the Mekong River, in the heart of this mythical region where Thailand, Laos and Burma meet.
From the small local port, we board a taxi boat for a navigation of approximately one hour on the waters of the Mekong, offering beautiful panoramas of the villages and landscapes bordering the river.
We then continue our route along the banks to a viewpoint overlooking the Mekong and the impressive casino complex with sino-roman style located on the Laotian bank.
Visit to the remarkable Opium Museum a modern museum built on a hillside overlooking the Mekong valley. Through immersive and documented exhibitions, the site traces the history of the opium trade in Asia, the influence of the Golden Triangle and the economic and social consequences linked to this cultivation. A fascinating visit that allows you to better understand the complex history of this border region.
On the way back, we make stops in several small villages of the Yao and Akha communities, settled in the mountains of northern Thailand.
If you wish, we can also stop in a Padaung community, a branch of the Karenni people originating from neighboring Myanmar, some of whose women wear the famous spiral golden neck rings that give the impression of elongating the neck.
This visit remains however very particular and sometimes raises questions among travelers. Some see it as a form of intrusive tourism, while others consider that these visits also make it possible to generate essential income for refugee communities living often in modest conditions. We therefore prefer to leave everyone free to choose, in full conscience, whether or not they wish to discover this village.
Berges du Mékong → Chiang Rai
Return to Chiang Rai in late afternoon

The tea plantations of Mae Salong
Departure to Mae Salong, a beautiful mountain road crossing green hills and tea plantations. This region in northern Thailand is known for its villages founded by Chinese Kuomintang refugees who fled China after the civil war.
Visit to the 101 tea plantation, renowned for its terraced tea crops offering magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
We continue with a stroll through the village of Santikhiri to discover the unique history of these Chinese communities from the former Kuomintang army, settled here for several generations.
We continue our journey through the mountains of the north to Tha Ton, a peaceful village located near the Burmese border. Bordered by the Kok River, this small town with its tranquil pace seduces with its authentic atmosphere, its ethnic minority villages and its verdant landscapes.
The road to reach Tha Ton is itself superb, crossing valleys, cultivated hills, plantations and rice fields that stretch as far as the eye can see in the heart of northern Thailand's mountains.
From Tha Ton, we board a long-tail boat for a pleasant cruise on the Kok River towards Chiang Rai. This cruise allows you to discover the magnificent landscapes of northern Thailand from a different perspective, between lush hills, isolated villages and scenes of daily life along the water.
Along the river, you can observe the inhabitants going about their business, animals coming to cool off on the banks and the peaceful atmosphere that prevails in this remote region. Halfway through, a stop is planned in a small tribal village to enjoy a moment of rest and some refreshing drinks.

First Steps in the Rose of the North
Early morning departure for Chiang Mai, the former capital of the Lanna kingdom and the true cultural heart of northern Thailand. Between century-old temples, a gentle way of life, renowned gastronomy and very much present traditions, the "Rose of the North" captivates with its peaceful and authentic atmosphere.
Stop at Bo Sang, the umbrella village, famous throughout Thailand for the traditional craftsmanship of its Sa paper umbrellas. This craft, introduced from Burma over a century ago by a monk, has made the village renowned today.
We visit the manufacturing center where several artisans continue this traditional know-how, from the creation of the bamboo structure to the delicate painting of the colorful patterns that adorn the umbrellas.
You then leave the city center to gain altitude heading towards the Doi Suthep temple, perched on the slopes of the mountain at approximately 1,200 meters altitude. A true symbol of Chiang Mai, this magnificent Buddhist temple offers an atmosphere filled with serenity and spirituality, where statues, sanctuaries and bells accompany the faithful and visitors in a moment of contemplation.
On the way, a stop at Wat Pha lat, a more discreet temple nestled in the forest, appreciated for its peaceful setting and almost confidential atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Bike Ride & Cooking Class
This morning, you set off on a bike ride to discover Chiang Mai, nicknamed the "Rose of the North". From the famous Tha Phae gate, and with the Doi Suthep mountains as a backdrop, you quickly leave the main roads to slip into the small streets and traditional alleyways of the city.
You will discover many ancient temples, monks walking through the city, lively markets and the daily life of residents, especially that of artisans from mountain communities who go about their occupations as we cycle by, under their curious eyes, through their neighborhood.
Small group activity accompanied by an English-speaking local guide.
Late in the afternoon, you depart for a traditional cooking class in English, organized in the countryside, outside Chiang Mai, in an old Lanna style house. In a friendly atmosphere, you discover the basics of Thai cuisine and learn to balance the emblematic flavors: spicy, sweet, salty and tangy.
Throughout the session, you prepare several must-try recipes, before tasting your creations on site.

In the Company of Elephants
This morning, you leave Chiang Mai aboard a songthaew, an emblematic local vehicle of the North. The journey takes you to the Mae Wang valley, southwest of the city, crossing increasingly verdant countryside: hills, rice fields and small villages punctuate the road. An authentic first transition to rural Thailand, far from urban hustle and bustle.
Arrival at the elephant sanctuary nestled in the heart of the tropical valley.
After a short walk through nature, we prepare fruit for the elephants before setting out to meet them. You'll be able to feed and interact with them in an environment that respects their well-being, while learning about their history and behavior through the guide's explanations.
You will then witness the elephants bathing in the river and have the opportunity to brush them in a particularly peaceful natural setting.
Activity in small groups accompanied by an English-speaking guide.
In the afternoon, to cool off, you enjoy a peaceful descent of the Mae Wang river aboard a traditional bamboo raft. Guided by a local boatman, the raft glides gently along the water, offering a calm and contemplative way to discover the surrounding landscapes.
At the tranquil pace of the current, you travel through lush nature between forests, rice fields and wild banks. A simple and relaxing activity, ideal for ending the day gently.
Return to Chiang Mai in late afternoon after a full day in the Thai countryside.
