This trip to Roumanie will reveal Roumanie at its finest.
The Danube Delta, located north of the Roumanian province of Dobroudja, on the shores of the Black Sea, is the best preserved of Europe's deltas. Its wild beauty, the great variety of landscapes untouched by human activity, the richness of wildlife - especially birds - and the sand dunes have attracted tourists for a long time.
The second part of the tour will take you to Transylvania, a land of beauty and wonders. Its very name conjures visions of forested peaks, gentle valleys and sparkling streams, medieval cities, mysterious castles and a troubled history.
Along your itinerary, you will discover landscapes of great diversity, alternating between mountains, forests and traditional villages. Meetings with local inhabitants will allow you to better understand the customs and traditions that make up Roumanie's cultural wealth. Historic monuments, fortified churches and medieval citadels illustrate an exceptional heritage. Each stage will also offer the opportunity to taste local specialties in a friendly atmosphere. Arrival in Bucharest
To Bucarest
Arrival at Bucharest airport and transfer to the hotel at your own expense.
Depending on your arrival time, you can already get a first glimpse of the city of Bucharest.
Nicknamed "the Little Paris of the 1930s", the capital of Roumanie will surprise you with the variety of its architecture: the Stavropoleos Church, the Lipscani merchants street, the Royal Palace, the Romanian Atheneum and the impressive Palace of Parliament – House of the People, the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon are only a few visits not to be missed.
Route to Constanta
Today, after arrival at the hotel in Bucharest, you can discover the old town center. There are many things to discover: Lipscani Street, Stavropoleos Church, the Palace of Parliament, the History Museum where you can see the gold bracelets belonging to the Dacian royal treasure; the Art Museum or the Ceausescu House.

DAY 3: Relaxation Day
To Constanta
Enjoy a relaxing day at the beach if you travel during the summer season. Otherwise, you can visit the city of Constanta. Beautiful mansions and hotels, built at the end of the 19th century and in the early 20th century, when King Carol I decided to revive Constanta as a beach resort and port city, can still be admired.
On the way to the Delta
On your way to Tulcea. You can stop at Histria, which is home to the ruins of the ancient city of Histria, the oldest city on the territory of Roumanie.
Then, continue north and stop at Enisala, where you will find the ruins of a medieval fortress built in the second half of the 14th century, probably by Genoese merchants, who held the monopoly on navigation on the Black Sea.
To the Heart of the Delta
Tulcea → Crisan
Morning visit to the Danube Delta Museum in Roumanie. This museum is one of the most modern museums in Roumanie. Through interactive maps, reconstructions of traditional natural habitats, as well as numerous aquariums of great diversity and documentary film screenings, this museum will introduce you to the atmosphere of the Delta.
Early afternoon, boat transfer to a traditional village in the heart of the Delta.
After the 2,860 km it travels from its sources in the Black Forest massif to the Black Sea, the Danube has formed, over more than 10,000 years, one of the most beautiful deltas in Europe and the world: the DANUBE DELTA. Thanks to the variety of its landscapes, the richness of its fauna, especially birds, and the interest it has always aroused from a scientific, tourist and economic point of view, the Danube Delta has always attracted visitors.
Immersion in the Danube Delta
To Crisan
Day boat trip for discovering the Delta: the Lakes that attract a wide variety of bird species; the Letea forest with its dunes and wild horses; the Channels that connect the lakes and shelter protected plant species specific to this habitat.
This unique habitat is home to over 300 bird species, some of which are rare enough to be protected by law. The waters hide over 100 different fish species.
Route to Brasov
Crisan → Tulcea
Early breakfast and departure by boat to Tulcea (at 8am).
On the way to Braila, stop at Greci in the Macin Mountains, the oldest mountains in Roumanie, to visit the Macin Mountains National Park headquarters. An easy 2-3 hour hike is also possible.
Tulcea → Berca
Late in the afternoon you will arrive at Berca, a village close to the "mud volcanoes" where you can take a walk to admire this very rare phenomenon in the world, which has created a truly lunar landscape.
The city of Brasov
Berca → Râșnov
During this day, explore the Brasov region. On the way to Brasov you can visit the peasant fortress of Prejmer, built by the knights of the Teutonic Order
Arrival in Brasov around noon and time to stroll through the old town center. Don't miss the must-sees: the Black Church (the largest Gothic cathedral between Vienna and Istanbul), Rope Street – a very narrow alley, the Council Square.

Passeport ou carte d'identité
Les ressortissants de l'Espace économique européen et de la Suisse peuvent entrer en Roumanie avec un passeport ou une carte d'identité nationale en cours de validité. Le document doit être en bon état (pas de pages détériorées, déchirées ou modifiées).
Les ressortissants canadiens doivent quant à eux se munir d'un passeport valide pour toute la durée du séjour, de préférence avec une validité d'au moins six mois après la date d'entrée dans le pays.
Séjour touristique sans visa
Les ressortissants de l'Espace économique européen et de la Suisse n'ont aucune restriction de durée de séjour en Roumanie en tant que citoyens européens bénéficiant de la liberté de circulation au sein de l'UE.
Les ressortissants canadiens bénéficient d'une exemption de visa pour les séjours touristiques d'une durée maximale de 90 jours sur toute période de 180 jours dans l'espace Schengen, dont fait désormais partie la Roumanie depuis le 31 mars 2024.
Les autorités peuvent demander aux voyageurs canadiens :
un billet de sortie du territoire (vol retour ou continuation),
une preuve de ressources financières suffisantes pour la durée du séjour,
une réservation d'hébergement pour tout ou partie du séjour.
Espace Schengen
La Roumanie a intégré l'espace Schengen le 31 mars 2024 pour les frontières aériennes et maritimes, et le 1er janvier 2025 pour les frontières terrestres. Les contrôles aux frontières intérieures avec les autres pays Schengen ont été supprimés pour les voyageurs en provenance de ces pays.
Pour les ressortissants canadiens, le séjour en Roumanie s'inscrit dans le décompte global des 90 jours sur 180 jours applicable à l'ensemble de l'espace Schengen.
Voyage avec des enfants
Les mineurs doivent être titulaires de leur propre document de voyage valide (passeport ou carte d'identité selon la nationalité) couvrant la durée du séjour.
Dans certains pays européens, lorsqu'un mineur voyage sans l'un de ses parents, une autorisation de sortie du territoire peut être exigée selon la réglementation du pays de résidence.
