Discovery of the North-East Region
Your journey begins in the village of Pingxi, famous for its sky lantern ritual. You will have the opportunity to write your wishes for happiness and prosperity before watching your lantern gently rise into the sky.
You will continue towards Shifen.
You will discover the nostalgic alleys of Shifen, crossed by the railway line. A short forest walk will take you to the majestic Shifen waterfall.
Nicknamed the "Niagara of Taiwan", it offers a breathtaking sight when the water mist creates magnificent rainbows above the pool.
The excursion then heads towards the North-East coast to reach Yehliu Geopark.
Explore the spectacular Yehliu Geopark. Jutting into the sea like a narrow peninsula, this site reveals an almost otherworldly landscape, shaped over millennia by the erosion of wind and waves.
You will wander among surprising rock formations, notably the famous "mushroom rocks" and the iconic "Queen's Head".
Head next to the unmissable perched village of Jiufen.
With its steep staircases, suspended red lanterns and traditional teahouses, the town offers an exceptional panorama over the East China Sea.
This timeless place, laden with mineral and cultural history, has inspired the imagination of many artists and filmmakers.
