Where Sandoway is located
Ngapali's beaches await travelers 400 km north of Rangoon. The Sandoway complex opened its doors in 1999. It offers the hospitality of its 59 vacation villas, nestled behind palm trees and pristine sand. Ngapali is easily accessible by air: domestic flights are available from Rangoon, Yeho, and Bagan. The landing airport is Thandwe Airport. The holiday village is just 20 minutes' drive from the airport. Sandoway's shuttle will meet you at the airport and transfer you directly to the resort. The complex is more precisely located in Mya Pin, a humble fishing village. The beach is safe and free from rocky coves.
Hotel rooms and suites
The Sandoway holiday village combines luxury and refinement while showcasing Burmese craftsmanship. The wood décor, from floor to ceiling, deserves praise for creating a beautiful rustic atmosphere! Construction materials also include marble and carved stone, the work of local artisans.
When making a reservation, you'll have a wide selection of rooms to choose from. There are Beach Front rooms, within walking distance of the shore; rooms with tropical garden views, ideal for nature enthusiasts; upper-floor rooms equipped with panoramic ocean-view terraces; and ground-floor rooms that are comfortable without being particularly distinctive.
The living space is generous, ranging from 40 m² to 60 m². Furnishings include either twin or double beds with colonial mosquito netting, a closet, a coffee table, and an armchair. Flat-screen TV, tea and coffee service, and a mini-bar for quick snacks round out the amenities. To top it off, each terrace features a hammock with lounge chairs sheltered beneath an umbrella. Pure relaxation awaits!
Children are welcome, but you cannot bring pets to Sandoway Resort.
Exploring around Ngapali
Former Sandoway guests rank Ngapali Beach among Southeast Asia's most beautiful coastlines. Ngapali is first and foremost about strolling along the waterfront, feet in the water and eyes fixed on fishing boats. Boat excursions are also hugely popular.
Sandoway's activities desk loans bicycles free of charge for exploring the surroundings. Visit the Jaketaw fishing village, just a 10-minute walk from the property. Explore the Thandwe market and its three pagodas aligned along the shore. For those seeking activity, a nine-hole golf course offers golfing in a privileged natural setting.

Numerous leisure activities will fill your days at this holiday village. You won't have time to get bored!

An outdoor pool
Make your stay complete with refreshing dips in the pool. A beach bag is provided, containing towels and flip-flops.
A bar
There's a bar by the pool where you can order various refreshments.
A library
What better way to enjoy a reading break in the library after a long morning walk!
A spa center
Extend your relaxation with a spa experience. Body and facial massage treatments are available for an additional fee.
Sawa Discovery's perspective
- The holiday village's architecture truly captures the spirit of Myanmar;
- It scores highly for its English-speaking staff: English, and also French and Thai;
- Its location on an isolated beach makes it an ideal refuge for couples.
