Lala Mukha Tented Resort
Glamping 2 hours from Bangkok: 31 safari tents and tree houses on the edge of Khao Yai National Park, in the village of Mu Si.
Lala Mukha Tented Resort sets up 31 safari tents and tree houses on the edge of Khao Yai National Park, approximately 2 hours' drive from Bangkok. The concept: glamping in the heart of nature, with design inspired by African huts and an omnipresent use of wood, in immediate proximity to the village of Mu Si.
Why stay here
Three main reasons make a night here worthwhile. First, the location, on the edge of Khao Yai National Park, Thailand's first national park and an ideal playground for trekking and wildlife watching. Next, the glamping formula: safari tents anchored on sturdy platforms, air-conditioned, without sacrificing hotel comfort. Finally, the surrounding nature, made up of meadows, pools and limestone relief, which dramatically differs from urban hustle.
Atmosphere
The resort plays the African lodge card transposed to Thailand. The tents, mounted on wooden platforms, dialogue with the tree houses nestled in the trees. Wood is everywhere: the structure of the Loft Tree Houses, floor coverings, interior furnishings (coat racks, dressers, accessories). Soft lighting, evening campfires and the absence of light pollution make it an ideal place for stargazing. The atmosphere remains family-friendly and calm, without luxury resort codes.
Accommodations
The resort has 31 lodgings divided into three categories:
- Eco Safari Tent (8 units): the entry-level option, with access to the communal pool.
- Deluxe Savanna Tent (9 units): a more spacious tent with a private furnished terrace.
- Loft Tree House (18 units): a cabin on a wooden structure, with a lounge area.
All tents are air-conditioned, equipped with quality bedding and modern bathrooms. You'll find a minibar, a safe, a coffee machine, and a practical kit: toiletries, slippers, flashlight, insect repellent, fan. Satellite television and free Wi-Fi throughout the resort.
Dining and services
The Jabulani restaurant serves a menu blending Thai cuisine and Western dishes, with a house specialty: barbecues and roasts (German-style pork, chicken with mushroom sauce). Service in the dining room or on the terrace depending on the weather. In the morning and afternoon, hot drinks and pastries are served free of charge directly in your tent—a much-appreciated touch.
As for on-site activities: swimming pool, campfires, starlit dining, stargazing. The resort also organizes evening barbecues.
Location and access
Address: 515 Moo 5, Tambon Mu Si, Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima 30130. The resort is located approximately 2 hours' drive from Bangkok, near Khao Yai National Park.
- By minivan: departure from Victory Monument in Bangkok to Pak Chong station.
- By bus: departure from Mochit Bus Terminal towards Pak Chong.
- By car: Bangkok – Mu Si via Thanarat and Pansuk-Kudklar roads.

When to visit
The Khao Yai region enjoys a tropical climate with a dry season from November to February, the most pleasant period: milder temperatures, clear skies, ideal for trekking in the park. From March to May, the heat sets in. The rainy season, from June to October, makes vegetation lush but can complicate some hikes: bring a raincoat and suitable shoes.
What to see and do nearby
- Khao Yai National Park: trekking, waterfalls, watching gibbons and wild elephants.
- Chok Chai Farm: Thailand's largest cattle farm, guided tours.
- Grandmote Vineyard: local vineyard, tastings.
- Pete Maze: family-friendly vegetable maze.
- Khao Yai Art Museum and Wat Mu Si for a cultural touch.
Popular activities in the area: golf at Khao Yai Golf Club, rafting on the Lam Takhong, horseback riding and elephant encounters at sanctuaries.
