Koh Jum Lodge is an eco-lodge of 19 wooden bungalows set on the western coast of Koh Jum, a small island in the Andaman Sea situated between Koh Lanta, Krabi and Koh Phi Phi. The property is run by Jean-Michel Limandas, his Thai wife Jane and several friends from Lyon, all with backgrounds in travel and eco-tourism. The couple brings over twenty years of experience in Thailand and Laos, where they contributed to the development of eco-lodges and cruises in the country's north, in Bangkok and Phuket.

The bungalows

All 19 pavilions are built entirely in wood, with thatched roofs and furnishings in bamboo, silk, cotton and rattan. Each bungalow features a double bed protected by mosquito netting, a lounge area with sofa and armchairs, modern bathroom facilities, a wardrobe, a refrigerator and a minibar. A ceiling fan replaces air conditioning—a choice consistent with the eco-lodge ethos. The private terrace overlooks the garden, pool or directly the Andaman Sea, and all bungalows enjoy panoramic views across the water.

The restaurant offers Thai and Western dishes, with a strong emphasis on seafood. Breakfast can be served on your private balcony. For leisure, the property provides a swimming pool, a multilingual library (books, CDs, children's music), board games, a fitness room and traditional Thai massage services. Pets are not permitted.

Location and access

Address: 286 Moo 3, T. Koh Sriboya, Nua Khlong, Krabi 81130. Access is by boat only. From Koh Lanta or Krabi, ferries run several times daily. Another option is to take a longtail boat from Laem Kruat Pier. As the lodge has no pier, boats anchor offshore and guests wade ashore. Airport transfers from Krabi can be arranged (at additional cost).

When to visit

The Andaman coast follows a distinct seasonality. High season runs from November to March, with calm waters and clear skies—ideal for snorkelling and boat journeys. From April to May, temperatures soar. The rainy season spans June to October, with rougher seas and reduced boat schedules—Koh Jum Lodge typically closes during this period, so check at the time of booking.
