The lodge's name echoes the Lanna kingdom, founded in the 13th century, with its name meaning "Land of a Million Rice Fields." This connection is more than mere decoration: the house's motto, "rice for life," translates concretely at the table. The varieties of rice cultivated by neighboring farmers are served in the restaurant, and several activities offered on-site showcase how rice farming structures local life.
