Kacha Resort & Spa Koh Chang

·

Beachfront resort on White Sand Beach in Koh Chang: oceanfront chalets, villas, Majesty spa, water slide pool and direct access to the island's national park.

Kacha Resort & Spa stretches across White Sand Beach, the longest stretch of sand on Koh Chang, on the island's west coast. The property combines direct beach access, a beachfront restaurant and an integrated spa, in a resort format that covers most of the needs for a beach stay in Thailand.

Why choose Kacha Resort & Spa

Location is the main strength: White Sand Beach concentrates most of Koh Chang's activity (restaurants, bars, shops), while remaining close to the natural sites of the Koh Chang National Park. The resort offers several accommodation categories ranging from beachfront chalets to villas with views, allowing you to adjust your budget without changing properties. The Majesty Spa, water slide pool and in-house restaurant minimize the need to venture out if you prefer a relaxed stay.

Atmosphere and setting

The complex opts for a family beachfront resort feel rather than an intimate boutique hotel. Architecture blends multi-story buildings on the hillside with chalets positioned as close to the beach as possible. The clientele is mixed (families, couples, groups of friends), with daytime activity around the pool and beach, quieter in the evenings. Service is geared toward longer stays, with 24-hour reception and concierge.

Rooms

Four main room types structure the offering:

  • Beachfront chalets: king-size bed, direct beach access. The most sought-after choice for those who want to open their door onto the sand.
  • Luxury villas: king-size bed, partial sea view and garden views.
  • Junior suites: queen-size bed, sofa bed (practical for families or groups of three), private balcony or terrace overlooking the gardens.
  • Hillside multi-story buildings: king-size bed plus two twin beds, panoramic views of the island's landscape. Suited to families and small groups.

All room categories feature air conditioning, flat-screen TV, minibar, tea/coffee machine, safe, and bathroom with shower and bathtub. Wheelchair-accessible, family and non-smoking rooms are available.

Location and access

From Bangkok, two options: approximately 4 hours by road to reach Trat (315 km), or a 55-minute flight to Trat Airport. The crossing to Koh Chang is then by ferry (approximately 40 minutes) from one of three mainland piers: Ao Thammachat, Center Point or Laem Ngop. Allow 10 to 15 minutes drive from Koh Chang's pier to the resort, whose entrance faces the main road.

When to go

Peak season at Koh Chang runs from November to April, with dry weather and calm seas — the most comfortable period to enjoy the beach and boat trips. May to October is the rainy season: softer rates, lush vegetation, but frequent showers and swell that can limit diving. December-January remains the busiest period, requiring advance booking.

Nearby attractions

The resort serves as a base for exploring the island:

  • Klong Nueng Waterfall, the highest on Koh Chang, within the national park
  • Bang Bao fishing village, on stilts, in the island's south
  • Ao Khlong Prao (approx. 5 km) and Lonely Beach (approx. 11 km) to explore other beaches
  • Chao Por Koh Chang Shrine (4 km) and Orthodox Church (3 km) for cultural sites

To extend or complement your stay, other Thai beachfront properties can enhance your itinerary, such as the Amari Hua Hin or Baan Talay Boutique on the Gulf of Thailand coast.
