Tunupa

Located in Peru's Sacred Valley, Tunupa Restaurant is a must-visit culinary destination for travelers eager to discover the authentic flavors of Peruvian cuisine. With a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains, the restaurant offers a peaceful setting to enjoy fresh, local dishes. Located in one of the most magnificent old haciendas of the Sacred Valley, the rooms and the chapel are fantastic. They are a museum of the famous colonial art of Cusco region, influenced by the Cusqueño baroque. The tables on terraces in front of the gardens are perfect for enjoying a good lunch in a country atmosphere at the edge of the Urubamba river. We often get there on foot from the Maras Salt Flats, from where we descend into the Sacred Valley by a small path.

The menu of the restaurant Tunupa is composed of traditional Peruvian dishes, such as roasted cuy, ceviche, lomo saltado, and freshly caught trout. The ingredients used to prepare these dishes are grown in the surrounding fields or purchased from local producers, guaranteeing the freshness and quality of the products.

The restaurant also offers a unique culinary experience with its earthenware kitchen, where dishes are prepared in traditional clay pots and simmered over coals. This cooking method preserves the ingredients' flavors and nutrients while providing a deliciously tender texture.

In addition to its exceptional cuisine, Tunupa Restaurant also offers a variety of local drinks, including fresh juices, craft beers, and cocktails made with pisco, an iconic Peruvian alcoholic beverage.

This is presented in a rather impressive buffet that is all you can eat.

Finally, the restaurant's atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with attentive waitpersons and traditional decor that reflects the history and culture of the region. Overall, Tunupa Restaurant is a unique and unforgettable culinary experience for travelers looking to discover the richness of modern Andean cuisine (Novo-Andean cuisine) in a beautiful setting.
