Green Jungle Trekking

Green Jungle Trekking offers a variety of treks, some lasting up to 10 days, deep within Virachey National Park in Ratanakiri. This jungle is home to numerous animal species such as gibbons, sun bears, ibises, hornbills, and toucans. During your trek, you will also have the opportunity to meet local indigenous communities and learn from them the secrets of their daily lives in the jungle. Green Jungle Trekking employs many local residents from Ratanakiri, and this eco-tourism initiative not only creates numerous jobs but also ensures the protection of the local flora and fauna within the explored jungle.

A brotherly enterprise

Green Jungle Trekking is run by Rithy and Sokha, two brothers born in a village within the Ratanakiri jungle. They know the area inside out. You will often meet Rithy, as he speaks English and has learned French, in addition to being able to communicate in some of the local ethnic languages, thus facilitating smooth communication between you and the local residents. Rithy studies management at one of Banlung’s universities on weekends, the largest city in Ratanakiri. The earnings from Green Jungle Trekking help fund his education. He combines the practical with the pleasurable, as both he and his brother have a deep love and respect for the nature and environment of their region. During your trek, the brothers will introduce you to other indigenous guides. They will teach you survival secrets in the jungle, including how to fish with a net, gather excellent vegetables, and even build a raft to navigate the river.
