Through this authentic circuit, we discover Patagonia starting with the exploration of isolated fjords where nature and the ocean predominate. Lovers of "slow travel" will have the opportunity to discover new horizons with the rustic comfort of a ferry connecting northern Chile to the isolated regions of Aisen and Magallanes.
The adventure continues with the visit of major national parks as well as the Grey and Perito Moreno glaciers. These are gigantic tongues of ice from the Campo Hielo Sur, an ice cap that covers the Andes in the south of Chilean territory. Furthermore, we will not miss spending a night in a typical Patagonian estancia and enjoying a gallop ride in the pampas.

Day-by-day itinerary
Puerto Montt – Puerto Varas
We spend the night in a typical hotel in Puerto Varas.
We are transferred from Puerto Montt airport to Puerto Varas, a Chilean city located near Lake Llanquihue, facing Osorno volcano.
We enjoy a walk along the Lake Llanquihue, the 3rd largest lake in all of Latin America. We catch sight of the Osorno volcano at the end of this expanse of water, which is a true Fuji Yama of the Andes.
We then head to Saltos de Petrohué, these are fractures in volcanic rocks where the turquoise waters of the Rio Petrohue flow down. You can then enjoy a beautiful panorama of Osorno volcano.
Puerto Montt
We are transferred again to Puerto Montt, to the offices of the Navimag company. After check-in which takes place between 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM, we have some free time to stroll through the San Angelmo market and discover its many fish and seafood stalls.
Boarding takes place around 2:00 PM and we are welcomed on board for navigation instructions. Departure at 4:00 PM.
We begin navigation in the Reloncavi estuary and the Gulf of Ancud in order to reach, at the end of the day, the Apiao canal and then the Gulf of Corcovado.
Moraleda Canal – The Gulf of Sorrows
Canal Moraleda → Golfo De Penas
At dawn, we meet up at the Moraleda Canal which is one of the deepest on this cruise itinerary. Based on the weather information received by the captain, he decides on the route to take. We may follow the Errazuriz Canal and Costa then the Pulluche Canal which allow us to observe lush vegetation dominated by beech and cypress forests. With a bit of luck, we can spot dolphins or "toninas", sea lions and various bird species.
In late afternoon, ocean navigation begins on the side of the Gulf of Sorrows. We set off on a crossing of approximately 12 hours.
Depending on the climate and season, we can observe humpback whales.
Bajo Cotopaxi – Puerto Eden
This morning, we navigate between the fjords and Messier Canal with 1270 m depth.
We find the cargo ship « Capitan Leonidas » run aground on a half-submerged islet since 1970. Also known as « Bajo Cotopaxi », this has become a reference point for navigators.
We then travel through Angostura Inglesa or English Narrow by crossing a narrow passage to reach Puerto Eden.
The last descendants of the Alakaluf indigenous people in Chile live here, on Wellington Island. The latter is among the largest in Chile and belongs to the Bernardo O'Higgins National Park.
We disembark at Puerto Eden if weather permits.
Angostura White
Golfo De Penas → Puerto Eden
Upon waking, we navigate on the Sarmiento Canal and then through the narrowest passage of Angostura White measuring 80 m wide.
The journey continues to Union Fjord before arriving in the access channel to Puerto Natales in the morning. This city located on the edge of the fjords is a gateway to Torres del Paine National Park.
We are then transferred to our hotel for a free afternoon and a night without rolling.
Grey Torres del Paine Navigation Park
This morning, we depart on an excursion to the famous Torres del Paine National Park. It owes its name to the three emblematic granite formations of the del Paine massif.
We enjoy a superb viewpoint over the massif, on the edge of the Sarmiento Lake and then over Laguna Amarga.
We then pass through Salto Grande, a magnificent waterfall separating Lake Nordenskjöld from Lake Pehoe, and then through the turquoise blue waters of Rio Paine.
Crossing vast plains to reach Grey Lake.
After check-in at Hosteria Grey, we board the Grey III to sail across Grey Lake in its entirety. This is an opportunity to observe icebergs floating adrift.
We then reach the front of Glacier Grey and sail facing this wall of ice while admiring its blue séracs and sipping a glass of whisky on the rocks.
After 3 hours of navigation, we reach dry land to take the road back to Puerto Natales.
We make a short stop at Cueva del Milodón Natural Monument, a prehistoric fauna species that once lived in the region.
Puerto Natales – El Calafate – Estancia
We have breakfast before being transferred to the bus terminal.
We then pass through the Chilean and Argentine border posts. Crossing the vast pampas to reach the Rio Santa Cruz which flows peacefully towards the Atlantic.
In early afternoon, we arrive in Calafate. This is a small tourist town located on the shores of Lago Argentino.
We then head to an estancia that preserves the authenticity of traditional Patagonie estancias, far from tourist routes. This one extends over a 12,000 hectare property on the edge of the lake. It is known for its breeding of Hereford cattle and sheep.
Then we gather around an Asado dinner where lamb cooked over a wood fire is on the menu.
We spend the night in this typical Patagonie house from the old estancias, transformed into a comfortable Hosteria.
Estancia – Glacier Perito Moreno – El Calafate
Today, we take advantage of an organized tour to discover the many activities available at the estancia.
Depending on the season, we have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the way of life on these farms lost in the vastness. In addition to activities related to livestock farming, we can enjoy horseback riding or hiking along the trails laid out on the property. We have lunch at the estancia.
In the afternoon, we are transferred by private car to the Perito Moreno glacier. We reach Lago Argentino and then the Magallanes peninsula. Then we enter Los Glaciares Park to get closer to the glacier, the immense glacial tongue that comes from the continental ice field.
We take a beautiful excursion on the walkways facing its impressive ice front, which allows us to observe the fall of seracs into the waters of Lago Argentino. It is possible for us to sail facing the southern part of the ice front.
At the end of the day, we return to El Calafate. Dinner included.
Flight to Calafate or Ushuaia
From El Calafate
We are transferred to the airport to take the flight to Calafate or Ushuaia.

Passeport
Pour entrer en Argentine et au Chili, votre passeport doit être valide pendant toute la durée de votre séjour. Il est toutefois fortement recommandé qu'il reste valide au moins six mois après la date d'entrée dans le pays, et qu'il comporte au moins une page vierge pour les tampons d'immigration.
Le document doit être en bon état (pas de pages détériorées, déchirées ou modifiées).
Séjour touristique sans visa
Les ressortissants de l'Espace économique européen, de la Suisse et du Canada bénéficient d'une exemption de visa pour les séjours touristiques en Argentine et au Chili.
En Argentine, cette exemption permet un séjour pouvant aller jusqu'à 90 jours, renouvelable une fois sur place pour une durée équivalente. Au Chili, l'exemption autorise également un séjour jusqu'à 90 jours, non renouvelable sans quitter le territoire.
Les autorités peuvent demander :
un billet de sortie du territoire (vol retour ou continuation),
une preuve de ressources financières suffisantes pour la durée du séjour,
une adresse d'hébergement sur le territoire.
Passage de frontière entre l'Argentine et le Chili
La Patagonie s'étendant sur les deux pays, de nombreux voyageurs sont amenés à franchir plusieurs fois la frontière terrestre entre l'Argentine et le Chili au cours de leur séjour. Chaque entrée sur l'un ou l'autre territoire donne lieu à un nouveau contrôle d'immigration et à l'attribution d'un nouveau délai de séjour autorisé.
Certains postes-frontières terrestres sont situés dans des zones reculées et peuvent avoir des horaires d'ouverture limités. Il est conseillé de vérifier les conditions de passage avant votre départ.
Il est strictement interdit d'importer des produits alimentaires frais (fruits, légumes, viande, produits laitiers) d'un pays à l'autre, sous peine de confiscation et d'amende.
Santé et vaccins
Aucun vaccin n'est obligatoire pour entrer en Argentine ou au Chili. Cependant, certaines recommandations sanitaires sont à prendre en compte :
La mise à jour des vaccins de routine (diphtérie, tétanos, poliomyélite, rougeole) est recommandée.
La vaccination contre l'hépatite A peut être conseillée selon votre profil et votre itinéraire.
En Patagonie, les conditions climatiques peuvent être extrêmes (froid, vent, UV intenses) : une préparation physique et un équipement adapté sont indispensables.
Nous vous recommandons de consulter un médecin ou un centre de vaccination avant votre départ pour un avis personnalisé.
Voyage avec des enfants
Les mineurs doivent être titulaires de leur propre passeport valide couvrant la durée du séjour.
Lorsqu'un mineur voyage sans l'un ou les deux parents, une autorisation de sortie du territoire peut être exigée selon la réglementation du pays de résidence, ainsi qu'une autorisation parentale notariée traduite en espagnol pour certains contrôles aux frontières argentines ou chiliennes.

Les conditions d'entrée peuvent varier selon la nationalité. Les voyageurs concernés doivent se renseigner auprès de l'ambassade ou du consulat d'Argentine et du Chili de leur pays de résidence.
