From Victoria Falls Bridge to Hwange National Park

Early departure this morning at 5:30 AM to experience the Bamba Tram, a tram ride allowing you to cross the bridge connecting Zambia and Zimbabwe.

After breakfast, departure at 9:00 AM to reach Hwange National Park. The approximately two-hour journey passes through landscapes dotted with Ndebele villages, baobabs and often dry riverbeds.

Upon your arrival at Hwange Main Camp, you are welcomed by your guide before continuing by 4x4 to Somalisa Acacia, with a picnic lunch along the way.

The Somalisa concession, comprising three camps spread out from each other, is distinguished by the diversity of its landscapes and by the Ngweshla Pan, a watering point frequented by many animals.

Check-in for three nights in a double tent at Somalisa Expeditions, an intimate camp allowing you to enjoy the peace of the savanna. A relaxation time is scheduled near the watering point where animals come to drink.

Dinner is served at the camp.

In the evening, a ranger accompanies you to your tent, with animals — notably elephants — moving freely through the camp.

Safaris in Hwange National Park

Your two days at Somalisa Expeditions follow a well-established rhythm, designed to make the most of the best observation times.

From 5:30 am, a knock on the door announces departure: you join your guide by the fire for coffee and breakfast, before heading out for approximately three hours of game drive. The Hwange National Park stands out for the richness of its wildlife and flora, with over 450 bird species and more than 120 mammal species. The sandy tracks in the north-western part are explained in particular by the proximity of the Kalahari national park.

Return around 10:00 am to the lodge for a hearty brunch, then time to rest: you enjoy the lounge overlooking the savanna or your tent, in peace and quiet.

Around 4:00 pm, departure for a second game drive, followed by sunset drinks. Hwange's landscapes evolve throughout the day, offering beautiful late afternoon atmospheres.

Return to the lodge around 7:00 pm. Dinner is served around a large shared table, in a friendly atmosphere conducive to exchanges with other travellers. A night guard then escorts you back to your tent, before a night filled with the sounds of the savanna.

Included

Meals: all meals and beverages

Activities: 2 game drives per day + sunset drinks

From Hwange to Mana Pools

After breakfast, you enjoy a final safari in the Hwange National Park, before lunch at Somalisa camp.

You then head to the airstrip for your Cessna flight to the Mana Pools National Park. This flight allows you to appreciate the landscapes from the air before your arrival expected around 4:30 pm.

Upon arrival, your guide welcomes you at the airstrip and then takes you to Zambezi Expeditions camp, where you stay for the next four nights.

Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mana Pools is recognized for its biodiversity and landscapes. The camp benefits from a location that allows you to set out on walking safaris or canoeing, two privileged approaches for observing wildlife.

The guides, accredited for these activities, have a high level of qualification after several years of training and practice. Their knowledge of the fauna and flora accompanies your discovery of this natural environment.

Canoeing safaris allow you to discreetly approach the banks where carmine bee-eaters nest in particular, while walking safaris offer a different immersion into the heart of nature. With a bit of luck, you may catch a glimpse of Boswell, an elephant known for standing on his hind legs to reach the branches of Albida trees.
