Lake Togo and the coast
Togoville is a small village in the maritime region of Togo. It is this village that gave its name to the country. It is located on the banks of the largest and most beautiful lake in the country, Lake Togo, which we visit by canoe. Togoville is also renowned for being a village rich in traditions.
We indeed notice fetishes and wooden sculptures in front of many houses.
A few kilometers away, Aneho, a coastal town, offers a pleasant getaway with its beautiful beaches and colonial houses.
In the afternoon, we take a short excursion to Agbodrafo to emotionally experience the history of slavery. The slave house, the well of the chained, the cannons, we tour all the sites of interest.
Kouma Kounda Village
We stroll through the largest market in the city to meet the Nana Benz, merchant women selling Vlisco cloths and valuable jewelry. Lomé is also home to great monuments such as Liberty Square, Independence Square, and its famous fetish market.
We then head towards Kpalimé, northwest of Lomé, along the border with Ghana. The Kpalimé region is Togo's green paradise, and our stay here will easily convince us of it. Lush plateaus, jungles, waterfalls—nature lovers will be delighted!
The rest of the day is dedicated to discovering the wonders of the small village of Kouma Kounda, located about fifteen kilometers from Kpalimé. This calm and green village is situated in the midst of generous nature rich in butterflies and beetles, so much so that many residents have specialized in butterfly and insect paintings and the village is beautifully decorated with paintings.
The Kloto Forest
Early in the morning we visit the city of Kpalimé and in particular its unmissable market, very lively and colorful, as well as the craft center.
Then we head to another corner of nature about fifteen kilometers from the city: the forest and mountains of Kloto, a hiking paradise for wildlife and flora enthusiasts. The waterfalls, butterflies of all kinds and coffee and cocoa fields enchant us.
Return to Kpalimé for the night.
Northern Ethnic Groups
We head north today to Anié, then to Kara, with stops and visits along the way, including the Aledjo fault and Kadara to discover the rock of death.
It is in the Kara region that one of the most numerous ethnic groups in Togo is found, the Kabyés. The Kara region is rich in cultural heritage, as evidenced by the many traditional festivals, including the evala wrestling competitions, which take place every year in July. The region also offers some very beautiful markets such as those in Kétao, Niamtougou, Bassar or Bandjéli.
We have two days on site to soak up the typical atmosphere of the region.

Return to Lomé
The day is dedicated to the long return journey to Lomé, a trip punctuated by numerous stops to admire the magnificent landscapes of the country. With a bit of luck, we may witness a cultural event along the way, accompanied by the engaging traditional rhythms of the country.
We arrive in Lomé in the evening and settle into our hotel.

Passeport
Pour entrer au Togo, votre passeport doit être valide au minimum six mois après la date d'entrée dans le pays et comporter au moins une page vierge pour les tampons d'immigration.
Le document doit être en bon état (pas de pages détériorées, déchirées ou modifiées).
Visa
Les ressortissants de l'Espace économique européen, de la Suisse et du Canada doivent obtenir un visa pour entrer au Togo. Ce visa peut être obtenu selon deux modalités :
le visa électronique (e-visa), à demander en ligne avant le départ sur le portail officiel des autorités togolaises,
le visa à l'arrivée, disponible à l'aéroport international Gnassingbé Eyadéma de Lomé, sous réserve de remplir les conditions requises.
Le visa touristique est généralement accordé pour un séjour pouvant aller jusqu'à 30 jours, avec la possibilité d'une prolongation auprès des services d'immigration togolais.
Les autorités peuvent demander :
un billet de sortie du territoire (vol retour ou continuation),
une preuve de ressources financières suffisantes pour la durée du séjour,
une réservation d'hébergement.
Certificat de vaccination contre la fièvre jaune
La présentation d'un certificat international de vaccination contre la fièvre jaune est obligatoire pour entrer au Togo. Ce document doit être valide et conforme aux normes de l'Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS).
Il est recommandé de vous munir de ce certificat avant votre départ, car son absence peut entraîner un refus d'entrée sur le territoire ou une mise en quarantaine à l'arrivée.
Santé
En dehors de la vaccination contre la fièvre jaune, il est conseillé de consulter un médecin ou un centre de vaccination avant le départ. D'autres vaccinations peuvent être recommandées selon votre situation personnelle (hépatites A et B, typhoïde, méningite, etc.).
Le Togo est un pays à risque palustre : un traitement antipaludéen préventif est fortement recommandé. L'utilisation de répulsifs et de moustiquaires imprégnées est également conseillée.
Voyage avec des enfants
Les mineurs doivent être titulaires de leur propre passeport valide couvrant la durée du séjour, ainsi que d'un visa en cours de validité.
Dans certains pays européens, lorsqu'un mineur voyage sans l'un de ses parents, une autorisation de sortie du territoire peut être exigée selon la réglementation du pays de résidence.
