Armenian Heritage Discovery: Geghard, Garni and the Symphony of Stones (with photosession)
Breakfast at the hotel.
In the morning, meeting with your English-speaking guide and your photographer. The photographer will take photos of you during visits to Geghard, Garni and its canyon, known for its picturesque landscapes.
Departure in the morning with the driver towards Geghard, (listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site) - nicknamed the Lourdes of Arménie. Halfway there, stop at the Tcharents Arc to admire the view of the biblical Mount Ararat, if it is visible.
Discovery of the Geghard cave monastery (the name "Geghard" means spear), where one of the precious relics of the Armenian Apostolic Church was kept: the spear with which a Roman soldier pierced the side of the crucified Jesus.
Continuation towards Garni, where you will discover the Garni canyon and the famous natural monument called the Basalt Organ or the Symphony of Stones (listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site). 30-minute walk in the canyon.

Lunch with a local family in Garni. Participation in the preparation of traditional Armenian bread, lavash.
Then, discovery of Garni: the Garni citadel, the only monument from the Hellenistic period in Arménie, famous for its pagan temple dedicated to the sun god.
Yerevan City Tour: History, Culture and Panoramas
In the morning, meet your English-speaking driver, who will accompany you throughout your stay for your transfers.
Visit to the Matenadaran, an institute housing an exceptional collection of ancient manuscripts, some of which are among the most precious and oldest in the world.
Stroll through the Cascade architectural complex, a unique site of its kind, famous for its original architecture, terraced gardens, fountains and its large monumental staircase. Located near France Square, it offers an exceptional panorama of the city and Mount Ararat, at 78 meters in height.
Lunch on your own in the city
After lunch, we continue the day with a moment of emotion and contemplation at the Armenian Genocide Memorial and its adjoining museum, located at the summit of Tsitsernakaberd. We then head to the statue Mother Armeniae, which from its dominant position atop a hill seems to watch over the city.
Dinner on your own and overnight in Yerevan.
OPTION! In the evening, from 21:00 to 23:00, you can enjoy the spectacular show of the famous fountains of Yerevan's Republic Square, available during the summer months and in September! It's free!

Historical and Wine Discovery in Arménie

Today we set off across the great plain of Ararat, under the watchful eye of the imposing peaks of the region. Our first stop is the magnificent Khor Virap monastery. Surrounded by vineyards and orchards, its privileged position on a hilltop dominated by the majesty of Mount Ararat delights photographers and all lovers of beautiful architecture and vast landscapes.
Continue to Areni, famous for its wines. Visit to Areni cave or Bird cave, where archaeological discoveries revealed the world's oldest wine press, dating back approximately 6000 years. Objects such as cups, wine jugs and the world's oldest leather shoe were also found there.

In the afternoon, visit the magnificent Noravank monastery, built between 1216 and 1223. The main church, Saint John the Baptist, is a masterpiece of Armenian architecture, with an exceptional narthex dating from 1261, decorated with sculptures representing Prince Smbat Orbelian.
Continue to the city of Eghegnadzor.

Sisian, Tatev & Goris

Drive to the city of Sisian
Short walk to discover the Karahoundj Observatory (Zorats Karer), one of the oldest in the world. The gigantic perforated stones were arranged in a precise order, allowing observation of the stars, comparable to sites such as Stonehenge in England.
Continuation south to the Syuniq region

Take the cable car "Wings of Tatev", the longest in the world, to reach the monastery in 12 minutes. Inaugurated in 2010, it connects Halidzor to Tatev Monastery while crossing the Vorotan Canyon. This 5,752-meter cable car offers spectacular views of the canyon.
Visit the Tatev Monastery complex, located at the top of the Vorotan River valley, is one of the most important historical monuments in Arménie. It was a major intellectual and university center. In the courtyard, you will discover the "Gavazan" ("The Crosier") stele, an octahedron 8 meters high topped with an openwork cross.
Take a break at the Devil's Bridge, famous for its natural hot springs. Get ready to swim.
Then drive to Goris

Goris and Khndzoresk - Troglodyte History
In the morning, visit of the old town of Goris. Nicknamed the little Cappadocia, Goris is one of the most beautiful cities in Arménie, situated in a spectacular landscape of caves (10 to 20 meters high) and troglodyte dwellings. A short walk will take us to the troglodyte caves of Goris.
Road to the village of Khndzoresk
Discover the troglodyte city of Khndzoresk, famous for its suspension bridge. Enjoy a hike of 1 hour 30 minutes in the Khndzoresk canyon with a local guide, crossing the famous suspension bridge.

Walking time: 1.5 km / 1 hour and a half
Climbing during trekking: 500m
Technical difficulty: Easy
Note: There are over 200 steps to descend and climb back up, and pick-up is not possible.
Return to Goris. Free lunch.

Enjoy some free time to stroll through the main square of Goris, in front of the town hall, where you can admire the fountain, the wooden street food stands and even… the Eiffel Tower!
Exploration of Selim and Lake Sevan

Drive towards Selim.
In medieval Armenia, many buildings were constructed along trade routes to accommodate travelers. The Selim caravanserai, located on the south side of the Selim Pass in the Vayots Dzor region, is the best preserved in the country. Built in 1332 by Prince Chesar Orbelyan, it is a remarkable example of medieval Armenian architecture.

Continuation towards Lake Sevan, at an altitude of 1,950 meters, is the largest in Armenia and one of the largest mountain lakes in the world. Nicknamed the "Blue Pearl" by Armenians, its wild and unique beauty remains etched in the memory.
Free visit to the Sevanavank monastery, which houses two churches, those of the Holy Apostles and the Holy Mother of God.
Supplementary option: Boat tour on Lake Sevan - enjoy a 20-minute boat ride on the lake (extra charge).

Drive to Alaverdi via the Debed canyon
Visit to the Haghpat monastery, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Haghpat monastery is organized around the Church of Saint Nechan, the Church of Saint Gregory the Illuminator and the Church of the Holy Mother of God. This monastic complex is an exceptional example of medieval Armenian architecture.
Late afternoon: visit to the Akhtala monastery, Armenian fortress dating from the 13th century, houses a complex of three churches, of which the main church is famous for its frescoes illustrating scenes from the Old and New Testament. It is also here that you will be able to take a photo with the famous wedding rings.

Discovery of Gyumri and Return to Yerevan

Route to Gyoumri, Armenia's second largest city, located on the Shirak plateau and crossing several mountain gorges. Discover the city center with its two famous churches as well as the Dzitoghtsyan museum. Gyoumri is also an important center for Armenian Catholics.
Enjoy a short stroll on the Vardanants Square to explore the local atmosphere.
Visit to the Dzitoghtsyan museum, also known as the Museum of Architecture and Popular Life, which showcases traditional Armenian heritage.
Pay tribute to the Charles Aznavour statue, one of the most iconic figures in Armenian culture, in Gyoumri.

Supplementary option: Visit to Amberd Fortress, if you wish, depart on an excursion to Amberd Fortress, located at 2300 meters altitude on the slopes of Mount Aragats. The fortress, called "Amberd" (meaning "fortress in the clouds" in Armenian), dates from the 10th century and was a military defense center of the Bagratouni and Pahlavuni kingdoms. The site preserves impressive ruins, including walls, a church and baths.

Discover the ruins of the Zvartnots Cathedral, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, located in a peaceful setting nicknamed the "granary of Arménie". Explore this historic site and the neighbouring cathedral.
Visit the Etchmiadzin Cathedral, a 4th century building, the oldest Armenian Christian edifice. Arménie was the first country to adopt Christianity as its official religion in 301, and Etchmiadzin remains the seat of the Catholicos of all Armenians, leader of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
Enjoy lunch in an artistic and original setting at CAU restaurant: Cross of Armenian Unity, where you can participate in a master class for preparing Armenian dolls.
Return to Yerevan
Supplementary option: meet a musician in Yerevan, who will introduce and play traditional Armenian instruments, notably the famous duduk, accompanied by a light snack.
In the late afternoon, explore the Vernissage, a large arts and crafts market for antiques and second-hand goods, a meeting place for locals and travellers.

Passport
To enter Armenia, your passport must be valid for the entire duration of your stay and contain at least one blank page for immigration stamps.
The document must be in good condition (no damaged, torn or altered pages).
Tourism stay without visa
Nationals of the European Economic Area, Switzerland and Canada benefit from a visa exemption for tourism stays in Armenia.
This exemption allows a stay of up to 180 days per year on Armenian territory, without any prior procedure required.
The authorities may also request:
a return travel ticket or onward flight,
proof of sufficient financial resources for the duration of your stay,
an accommodation address in Armenia.
Registration with local authorities
Any traveler staying in Armenia is in principle required to register with the local authorities within 20 days of arrival. In practice, this formality is generally handled directly by the hotel or accommodation establishment, which registers the traveler.
If staying with a private individual or in non-professional accommodation, you should ensure that this procedure is completed, as failure to do so may result in a fine upon departure from the territory.
Traveling with children
Minors must hold their own valid passport covering the duration of the stay.
In some European countries, when a minor travels without one of their parents, an exit authorization from the territory may be required according to the regulations of the country of residence.
Other nationalities
Entry conditions may vary depending on nationality. Travelers concerned should check with the Armenian embassy or consulate in their country of residence.
