The spirit of travel
This charming trek guides you to discover the two most famous massifs of Népal: Everest and Annapurna, with grandiose landscapes, while immersing you in the heart of the culture of this sacred kingdom of the Himalaya.
Travel the paths carved through the many valleys while enjoying comfortable lodges with all the modern amenities of a high-end hotel. The Yeti Mountain Home lodges that we use in the Khumbu and Mountain lodges of Nepal on the south side of the Annapurnas each offer spacious rooms that are pleasantly decorated and have running water
The construction of each lodge has been carefully designed to present a magnificent panorama of the Himalaya or the valley below. For those who would like to see both the Everest and Annapurna regions in a single trip and would also like to do it in comfort, we recommend this expedition.
The itinerary was modified in 2017 to avoid tourists and now includes 6 days of trekking in the Everest region, followed by 5 days of rather peaceful trekking in the foothills of the Annapurnas. End your stay with a flight over the high snow-capped peaks of the Himalaya to Pokhara

Highlights
Day-by-day itinerary

Arrival in Kathmandu
Welcome and assistance by our representative at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. A short car ride will take you to your hotel where you can rest for a while. The welcome drink will be an opportunity to present the program and review the documents necessary for the trekking permit.

Flight to Lukla, then trekking downhill to Phakding
The day starts early, with a short but spectacular flight to Lukla, the starting point of our trek. From the Langtang range to the Jugal Himal, passing through the Rolwaling, Gaurisankar and Menlumtse, before your first vision of Everest: the panorama is breathtaking.
We begin our trek at the Khumbu gate at the entrance to the village of Lukla. Throughout the day, many stops will be planned to meet the locals, take photos and of course enjoy the landscape and the view of the many snow-capped peaks, culminating at 6,000 m.
We pass near the enormous mani (prayer) stone Thado Kosi, then we go around the numerous chortens and prayer wheels of Sano. Free afternoon.
Nevertheless, those who wish can still climb to a small Gompa (Buddhist temple), overlooking the village. We meet for an aperitif by the fireplace and dinner.

Trek through farms and villages to Namche Bazaar
The beginning of the day is devoted to a short walk to acclimatize properly to the altitude. Free afternoon to enjoy the shops and cafés of Namche. While strolling, your guide will take you to wonderful panoramic views where you can admire the "rock-stars" of the Himalayan world. Feast your eyes: towering over deep valleys, the Lhotse, the Nuptse, Everest, and Ama Dablam unfold before you.
Leaving Phakding, we continue north along the west bank of the Dudh Kosi, passing several lodges and tea houses at a high thin waterfall in Benkar (2710m). Here, there are sensational views of Thamserku (6623m). Crossing the Kyashar Khola, we make a final ascent to the village of Monjo (2835m) where we pass the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park.
We then have a short but steep descent on stone steps to another suspension bridge where we cross the west bank of the Dudh Kosi once more. We make a final crossing on a spectacular suspension bridge and then begin a one and a half hour long climb to Namche. About half an hour below Namche, we get our first views of Everest.
The location of our lodge is superb, giving us a panoramic view of Namche and the valley of the jagged peaks of the Kongde range. Just a short walk away is a classic view of Ama Dablam, one of the most beautiful mountains in all of Népal and of Lhotse, Thamserku and Everest.

Trek above the Bhote Khosi river via Phurte and Thamo to the Sherpa settlement of Thame
After breakfast, we begin the day with a 2 to 3 hour walk through a forest of spruce, juniper and pine to the village of Thamo. This trail is much less used by hikers and we will immediately notice the difference. It is, however, an important trail that leads all the way to Tibet via the Nangpa on the shoulder of Cho Oyu (8012m). We stop for our lunch at Thamo which is the home of Ang Rita Sherpa, who has summited Everest 10 times without oxygen.
After lunch, we continue walking via a deep gorge and cross a powerful bridge over the gorge to reach Thame (3800m). This important village is the home of many famous mountaineers, including Tenzing Norgay the first man to reach the summit of Everest with Sir Edmund Hillary. Apa Sherpa who has summited at least 18 times lives here now. The village is very picturesque and also has a magnificent 16th century Nyingmapa gompa (monastery) built by Lama Rolwa Dorje. We settle into our luxury rooms with stunning views of Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru.

Trek back to Lukla, with free afternoon
After breakfast, we set off again for Lukla via a small mountain trail. We cross Banker and arrive at Phakding where we have lunch.
Another 3 hours of hiking to return to Lukla. We finish our trek with one last climb with a positive elevation gain of 200 meters! On the way back, we can stop for a drink, possibly visit the Chaurikharka school and the Kyongma monastery.
This is the moment to say goodbye to our trekking team before spending our last night in the mountains.

Flight: Lukla - Kathmandu - Pokhara. Transfer by road and trekking to Birethanti
Here we connect with the 30-minute flight to Pokhara. This equally spectacular flight offers views of the Langtang, Manaslu and Annapurna ranges. We will be welcomed upon arrival at Pokhara airport and taken by vehicle (1 hour) to the start of our walk.
From Pokhara
Together with our new local team, we follow a trail through the lower foothills of the Annapurnas with surrounding views of the Pokhara valley. Finally, we descend to the very comfortable Ker and Downey Sanctuary Lodge in the Modi Khola valley. Lunch is at the lodge and there is the possibility in the afternoon to walk to the nearby village of Birethanti. Otherwise, you can rest at the lodge and do some local exploration.

Trek beside the Modi Khola at Landruk
The beginning of the day is devoted to a short walk to help you acclimatize to the altitude. Free afternoon to enjoy the shops and cafés of Namche. While strolling around, your guide will take you to wonderful panoramic views where you can admire the "rock-stars" of the Himalayan world. Feast your eyes: overlooking the deep valleys, Lhotse, Nuptse, Everest, and Ama Dablam offer themselves to your gaze.
Finally, if you feel sufficiently fit, we can continue to the charming villages of Khumjung and Kunde where a clinic and a school were able to open thanks to the Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation.
After breakfast at the lodge, we have a pleasant morning of trekking along the Modi Kola (the river that flows from the Annapurna sanctuary). There are superb views ahead of us of the Annapurna peaks and Mt. Machhapuchhre "fishtail". We cross a suspension bridge on the opposite side of the river and from here about an hour of hiking on a combination of a return trail and stone steps to reach the village of Landruk.
Landruk offers more glorious views of the Annapurna range. We arrive at Ker and Downey Lodge - La Bee in time for lunch. After lunch, there is the possibility of a guided tour of this pretty mountain village.

Trek to Majhgaon
Leaving Landruk and the Modi Khola valley, today's walk crosses the valley to the east and heads south, with fairly minor undulations, passing through picturesque villages and agricultural land with superb views of the Annapurnas. We will arrive at Ker and Downey - Gurung Lodge near Majhgaon in time for lunch. The lodge is built to resemble a traditional Népal village and each room has a spectacular view of the valley and surrounding mountains.
The afternoon can be spent in the lodge gardens or we can choose to explore neighboring villages with our guide.

Trek to Dhampus with a stunning view of Machhapuchhre
This morning, we cross the village of Patlekhet, which has managed to preserve its authenticity. Our trek then takes us through subtropical forests, particularly prized for their orchids, rhododendrons and magnolias. Along the way, we will stop at the village of Pothana, where you can meet many Tibetan traders.

Last day of trekking, return to Pokhara and night in a hotel.

Flight: Pokhara - Kathmandu. Free afternoon to relax by the pool or for independent sightseeing.
We take the morning flight to Katmandou. One of the attractions of any visit to Népal is the chance to stroll through the streets of Katmandou, which presents a fascinating mosaic of shops, cafes and restaurants, food markets and street vendors, as well as a stunning array of colorful temples and sanctuaries. This evening, we will dine in one of Katmandou's excellent restaurants.

Guided tour for half day
Today, we organize a half-day guided tour of the two main sites in the Kathmandu Valley: the "monkey temple" Swayambhunath, or the Hindu temple of Lord Shiva at Pashupatinath, or the Boudhanath, the largest Buddhist stupa in Népal. After our guided tour, the rest of the day is free to relax in the hotel gardens or by the pool, or for other independent visits.
Kathmandu is a very safe city (provided you watch the traffic) and exploring on your own is great fun. This evening we will have a celebration dinner to mark the end of an excellent trip.

Good to see you again and see you next time!

The information below concerns travelers who are nationals of the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, and Canada traveling to Nepal for a tourist stay. Since entry rules may change, we recommend that you verify this information with the official authorities before your departure.
Passport
To enter Nepal, your passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the date of entry into the country and must have at least two blank pages for immigration stamps.
The document must be in good condition (no damaged, torn, or altered pages).
Tourist visa
Unlike some destinations, Nepal does not grant visa exemptions to nationals of the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and Canada. A tourist visa is mandatory to enter the territory.
This visa can be obtained in two ways:
On arrival (visa on arrival): available at the main entry points, notably Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and certain land border crossings. It is strongly recommended to complete the application form online before departure to facilitate procedures on site.
Online before departure: via the official online visa system of the Nepalese government (online visa application), allowing you to obtain prior authorization to present upon arrival.
Official rates are as follows:
15 days: 30 USD
30 days: 50 USD
90 days: 125 USD
Payment is generally made in cash (USD, EUR, or other accepted currencies) or by credit card depending on the entry points. It is advisable to have US dollars in cash for payment on site.
The authorities may also request:
an exit ticket from the territory (return flight or onward journey),
proof of sufficient financial resources for the duration of your stay.
Online arrival form
Before your arrival, it is recommended to complete the online arrival form available on the official portal of the Nepalese government. This form allows you to provide immigration authorities with:
passport information
flight details
the address of your first accommodation in Nepal
A digital confirmation or a reference code may be requested when passing through immigration or at the visa issuance counter upon arrival.
Special permits for trekking areas
Certain regions of Nepal require additional permits in addition to the tourist visa:
the TIMS (Trekkers' Information Management System): mandatory for most trekking itineraries,
national park or conservation area permits (e.g., Sagarmatha for Everest, Annapurna Conservation Area),
restricted zone permits for certain specific destinations such as Mustang, Dolpo, or Manaslu.
These permits are generally obtained in Kathmandu or Pokhara from the relevant offices.
Health and vaccinations
No vaccine is mandatory to enter Nepal, except in case of arrival from a country at risk of yellow fever. However, several vaccinations are strongly recommended by health authorities:
hepatitis A and B,
typhoid,
diphtheria-tetanus-poliomyelitis (DTP),
rabies (especially for extended stays or in remote areas),
Japanese encephalitis (depending on areas and season).
Preventive antimalarial treatment may be recommended for certain low-altitude regions (Terai). It is advisable to consult a doctor or international vaccination center at least four to six weeks before departure.
Traveling with children
Minors must hold their own valid passport covering the duration of the stay, as well as their own tourist visa.
In certain European countries, when a minor travels without one of their parents, an exit authorization from the territory may be required according to the regulations of the country of residence.

Entry conditions may vary depending on nationality. Travelers concerned should inquire with the embassy or consulate of Nepal in their country of residence.
