This itinerary offers the chance to discover the major natural, cultural and historical treasures of western Sicily in one of the best ways possible: on foot.
Along the trails, discover the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean, wild coves, the Trapani salt pans and hilltop villages where time seems to have stood still. The hikes alternate with visits to emblematic sites such as Erice, Segesta and the Zingaro nature reserve, a veritable treasure trove of biodiversity. Each stage is also an opportunity to savour Sicilian specialities, from olive oil, local wines, freshly caught fish and traditional pastries.

Welcome to Sicily!
From Palermo, you are transferred to the small village of Scopello which overlooks the sea in a lovely rolling landscape. You will be delighted by the natural beauty of this picturesque place. You settle into your hotel and enjoy your free time strolling through the charming streets of the village, where every corner reveals a new surprise. A typical dinner in a small local restaurant is a must, where you can taste regional specialties and savor the authenticity of Sicilian cuisine.
The Zingaro Nature Reserve
The main attraction of Scopello is none other than Sicily's first nature reserve: the Zingaro Reserve, which is characterized by spectacular coastal landscapes featuring limestone reliefs, coves and caves as well as rich endemic fauna and flora. You will discover this natural eden during your first hike, during which you can also swim in one or another deserted cove if you feel like it. Take advantage of this hike to immerse yourself in the wild beauty of the reserve and observe the diversity of animal and plant life that thrives there.

Second and final night in Scopello. Take advantage of this evening to soak in one last time the peaceful and charming atmosphere of this picturesque village. Whether by strolling through the streets or savoring a final local meal, make this night a memorable moment before continuing your journey.
The San Vito Lo Capo Peninsula
After a short private transfer, we begin our day's walk on the small San Vito Lo Capo peninsula. From the first steps, we are amazed by the natural beauty that surrounds us. As we climb, the views of the turquoise sea and the charming seaside town become increasingly spectacular. We walk peacefully between olive groves, breathing in the fresh air and enjoying the serenity of the landscape. Our walk takes us to the summit of Monte Monaco, where we are rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view. A private vehicle awaits us to take us back comfortably to Trapani. Approximately 6.5 km of walking.
Trapani has a lovely historic centre where you can stroll with pleasure. As you wander through the cobbled streets, you discover ancient buildings, majestic churches and picturesque squares. It's the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the history and culture of this charming Sicilian town. You also take the opportunity to discover the local cuisine, which features seafood prominently. Among the delights not to be missed is the succulent fish couscous, a traditional dish that will delight your palate. Each bite is an explosion of flavours, reflecting the gastronomic richness of the region.
Scopello → Trapani
Levanzo Island
Today, change of scenery: you will travel to the Egadi Islands aboard a hydrofoil, more specifically to Levanzo Island. Upon arrival, you will be charmed by the wild beauty of this small island. Your first visit, optional, is to the Genovese Cave, a fascinating site that contains rock paintings dating back over 11,000 years. These prehistoric works offer a unique insight into the lives of our ancestors.

The rest of the day is dedicated to a beautiful discovery hike of the island. You will be amazed by the varied landscapes and the tranquility that reigns here. This hike is characterized notably by its dry stone walls, witnesses to the island's agricultural past, and the white houses of its small port, which add a picturesque touch to the scenery. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to admire the local flora and perhaps even catch a glimpse of some wild animals. It is an enriching experience that will allow you to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the island.

After a day full of discoveries and adventures, you will return to Trapani. Enjoy the evening to relax and recall the highlights of the day. You will spend the night in the comfort of your hotel, ready to welcome a new day of exploration.
The Medieval City of Erice
Trapani is overlooked to the north-east by a hill 750 meters high, on which stands one of the most beautiful gems of Sicily: the medieval town of Erice. You can take the cable car from Trapani, which will gradually reveal the breathtaking views enjoyed by the city. In Erice, everything is History and the medieval remains are remarkably preserved. You will admire the buildings of the town, not forgetting to discover local culinary specialties such as cannoli, marzapane and genovesi. Every street corner transports you to another era, and every bite is a celebration of Sicilian flavors.

It is on foot that we take the path back towards Trapani, a pleasant downhill walk during which we have the opportunity to enjoy the striking panorama of the sea, the plain and the vineyards.
By bicycle towards the salt pans of Trapani
Today we dedicate the day to discovering Trapani. The streets of the city center reveal lovely architecture. At the western tip of the city, at the meeting point between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, the Ligny Tower built in the 17th century during Spanish rule is a symbol of the city. It houses a small museum (closed Mondays) featuring local archaeological pieces, and offers superb views over the coastline, the city and the Egadi archipelago.
In the afternoon, you will enjoy a pleasant bike ride to the Trapani salt pans. Pedaling through this unique landscape, you will discover the artisanal process of local salt production, a craft passed down from generation to generation. You will be fascinated by the vast expanses of salt basins and mountains of white salt glistening in the sun. This visit also includes entry to the salt museum, where you will learn more about the history and importance of this activity for the region.
Bike and salt museum visit included. Option to replace the bike with a private transfer for a supplement of €20/person.
Wines and Ancient City
Trapani → Marsala
In a private vehicle, you will head in the morning towards Marsala, a historic town renowned for its exquisite wines. Upon arrival, you will be charmed by the authentic atmosphere of its city center, where every street corner tells a story. You will take time to admire the historic buildings and lively squares before heading towards the port. There, you will have the opportunity to participate in a tasting of refined wines, accompanied by other local culinary specialties. Each sip and each bite will help you discover the unique flavors of the region.
Marsala → Tempio Di Segesta
Then, you will continue by car to Segesta, an ancient Elymian city, named after this people of Antiquity who came to settle in western Sicily. Upon arrival, you will be amazed by the majesty of its Doric temple, built on a hill in the 5th century BC. This impressive monument, perfectly preserved, will transport you back in time. You will then continue your walk through the surrounding hills, immersing yourself in this unique site and trying to imagine what life could have been like in this place 2500 years ago. Each step will bring you closer to the fascinating history of this region.

Tempio Di Segesta → Palerme
Finally, your vehicle takes you to Palermo, the emblematic capital of Sicily, where you will settle in for your last night. You will have the evening to enjoy the beautiful architecture and warm, lively atmosphere of the city. Do not miss visiting the majestic cathedral, admiring the fountain at Piazza Pretoria and savoring a final meal at an excellent restaurant serving Sicilian specialties. Every corner of the street in Palermo tells a story, and every moment spent here will be memorable.

Passeport et carte d'identité
L'Italie est membre de l'Union européenne et fait partie de l'espace Schengen. Les ressortissants de l'EEE peuvent entrer en Italie avec un passeport ou une carte d'identité nationale en cours de validité. Le document doit être en bon état (pas de pages détériorées, déchirées ou modifiées).
Les ressortissants suisses, bien que non membres de l'UE, bénéficient d'accords bilatéraux leur permettant également d'entrer en Italie avec une carte d'identité ou un passeport valide.
Les ressortissants canadiens doivent être titulaires d'un passeport valide pour toute la durée du séjour. Il est recommandé que celui-ci soit valide encore au moins trois mois après la date de départ prévue du territoire Schengen.
Séjour touristique sans visa
Les ressortissants de l'EEE et de la Suisse bénéficient de la libre circulation au sein de l'espace européen et ne sont soumis à aucune limitation de durée pour leurs séjours touristiques en Italie.
Les ressortissants canadiens bénéficient d'une exemption de visa pour les séjours touristiques dans l'espace Schengen. Cette exemption permet un séjour de 90 jours maximum sur toute période de 180 jours, tous pays Schengen confondus. Au-delà de cette durée, un visa de long séjour est requis.
Autorisation de voyage ETIAS
À partir de la date d'entrée en vigueur du système européen, les ressortissants canadiens devront obtenir une autorisation ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) avant tout voyage dans l'espace Schengen, dont l'Italie fait partie.
Cette autorisation électronique, distincte d'un visa, sera à demander en ligne avant le départ. Elle sera liée au passeport du voyageur et généralement valable plusieurs années. Nous vous recommandons de vérifier l'état d'avancement de ce dispositif auprès des autorités officielles avant votre départ.
Voyage avec des enfants
Les mineurs doivent être titulaires de leur propre document de voyage valide (passeport ou, pour les ressortissants de l'EEE, carte d'identité nationale).
