Colombian Adventures

Private transfer to the airport for our domestic flight to Leticia, at the border of Colombie, Peru and Brazil, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest (airport tax to be paid on site at Leticia airport: COP 32.000).

The experience we will live in the Amazon deliberately avoids tourist spots to offer the most authentic adventure possible. We will alternate travel on foot, by canoe and small motorized boats with the goal of observing this exceptional fauna and flora. The experience is physical and intense, but it's worth it!

Upon arrival transfer to Don Placido Huitoto's home. After lunch we begin a jungle trek during which we observe the local fauna and flora. Arrival in late afternoon at our traditional Huitoto hut (maloca indigenous) where we set up our hammock for the night.

Exchange with a traditional shaman during dinner then nighttime activities.

We start this day with a hike that takes us to the Maloca de Boras and we take the opportunity to swim in the Quebrada Takana.

We then travel by vehicle to the Agape Natural Reserve (approximately 30 minutes of transport) for an afternoon of climbing to platforms located in trees at 35 meters high. Possibility for enthusiasts to spend the night on one of these platforms.

Dinner and accommodation in the reserve in a tent or cabin.

Today we meet the San Pedro de los Lagos Indigenous Community. After a short hike, we cross by kayak the Yahuarcaca and Victoria Regia lakes to reach Flor de Loto where we have lunch.

In the afternoon we navigate the Amazon River in Peru to the Zacambu Lake while observing local fauna and flora. Dinner and accommodation in a family home and at nightfall we set out on a search for caimans.

For this last day in the Amazon we take a boat to cross the Javari River to a Brazilian town. We can observe pink dolphins during this crossing. Late morning we return to Leticia and depending on the flight schedule visit craft shops.

Domestic flight from Leticia to Bogotá then from Bogotá to Pereira.

We are welcomed at Pereira airport and transferred by car to Salento.

Check-in at our hotel and free evening.

Here we go for a new adventure, a 3-day trek in the heart of the Los Nevados National Park. This trek will be an opportunity for us to observe magnificent tropical glaciers and a unique ecosystem in the world: the Páramo. Colombie is home to 50% of the world's páramo, including some of the most beautiful.

We start this first day with a short Jeep ride to one of Colombie's iconic landscapes: the Cocora Valley and its wax palms.

We then begin our hike to the misty forest where we have lunch while enjoying an unobstructed view of the canyon and its flora. We continue our walk to a peasant farm where we will spend the night. A warm dinner and a wonderful moment of sharing with our hosts await us for this first evening in the Nevados.

Early morning wake-up today with a typical breakfast and departure at 7am from our guesthouse. We walk to the Buenos Aires farm passing through the Quindío wetlands and the famous páramo. We discover the frailejones, plants from the palm family that only grow above 3000m.

Two options are then available to us, depending on our fitness level:

option 1 - continue the hike to reach the summit of Nevado del Quindío at 4750 m altitude

option 2 - not climb any higher and continue our hike to the Spring farm at 3600 m altitude, where we spend our second night

Early departure this morning for a first stop at the Col de la Vierge from which we have a superb panorama over the Páramo. We then descend to a place called the Étoile de l'eau where we taste an agua de panela, a typical Colombian hot drink. Finally we pass by the Maison des colibris and continue our descent along the Quindío river to reach the Cocora valley.

Return by jeep to Salento, from where a private vehicle takes us to Pereira airport.

A short domestic flight to Medellín concludes this full day. Transfer to our hotel for a good night's rest.

From the Enrique Olaya Herrera regional airport we take a flight to the Pacific coast heading to the small town of Nuquí, an exceptional place and paradise for nature lovers, located on the shores of the Gulf of Tribugá. Lush vegetation, dense forest, paradisiacal deserted beaches, we are here in the least populated region of Colombie and with the greatest biodiversity.

The Nuquí region is also very rich culturally, mainly populated by Afro-Colombians but also by indigenous communities.

Info: a tourist tax of 8000 pesos is to be paid at the airport

From Nuquí a boat takes us to the Guachalito beaches. Settlement at our ecolodge, between forest and sea, a haven of calm and peace in exuberant nature.

After lunch on the beach we take our first walk to discover the surrounding nature, cross deserted beaches and cool off at the Cascada del Amor, before returning to our ecolodge.

Approximately 1 hour of walking

Return by boat to Nuquí and transfer to the airport.

A domestic flight and then a car transfer take us to our hotel in Medellín.
