The spirit of travel

This circuit takes you through some of Bulgaria's most beautiful landscapes, from the mountains of the south to the shores of the Black Sea. After discovering Sofia, the lively capital where ancient ruins and Soviet architecture blend together, you'll head to the Rila Monastery, a spiritual jewel nestled in the heart of the mountains and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The itinerary continues to Plovdiv, one of Europe's oldest inhabited cities, where the old quarter with its Bulgarian Renaissance-style houses sits alongside a remarkably well-preserved Roman theatre.

You will then reach several villages renowned for their architectural heritage and preserved traditions, true witnesses to Bulgaria's golden age of the 19th century. The route then unfolds along the coast, with stops at Sozopol, an ancient city with picturesque streets, Nessebar and its history-laden peninsula, Varna, a dynamic major port city, and Balchik, famous for its palace and botanical gardens overlooking the sea.

Between historical sites, natural reserves and fine sandy beaches, each region reveals a different face of the country. A complete journey that combines cultural discoveries, varied landscapes and relaxation time by the sea, for an authentic immersion in Bulgaria's diversity.
