Which vaccinations are required for traveling to Australia?
No vaccines are mandatory to enter Australia. Only travellers from yellow fever-affected countries must present a vaccination certificate. It is recommended to be up to date with routine vaccines.
Compulsory vaccinations
Australia does not require any compulsory vaccinations for English-speaking travelers. The only exception concerns travelers coming from countries where yellow fever is present: they must present a valid vaccination certificate.
Recommended vaccinations
It is advisable to be up to date on universal vaccines:
- DTP-polio (diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis)
- Hepatitis B
- Pertussis
- MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)
Depending on the length of stay and planned activities, some doctors may also recommend:
- Hepatitis A: for extended stays or in rural areas
- Typhoid: in case of travel to remote regions
