Day-by-day itinerary

Day between volcanic peaks, serenity of hot springs and sculptured sea
In the morning, your adventure begins with the climb up Mount Qixing, the highest point of the Yangmingshan National Park and the highest peak in the Taipei region.
As you hike its trails bordered by sulfurous fumaroles, evidence of the island's geothermal activity, you reach a spectacular 360-degree panorama encompassing the entire Taipei valley, the meanders of the Tamsui River and the blue waves of the north coast.
The morning continues towards the gentle green plains of Qingtiangang. This basaltic plateau, shaped by ancient lava flows, harbors a unique pastoral history: under Japanese rule, these pastures served as ranches for water buffalo breeding. Today roaming free, these majestic animals graze peacefully amid mist and hills, offering a bucolic and timeless scene.
In the afternoon, after descending the north slope of the massif, a stop in Jinshan is a must for a well-deserved break.
You will immerse yourself for an invigorating dip in its natural hot springs, fed by the earth's fire, perfect for soothing muscles after the exertion of hiking.
At the end of the day, to close this odyssey, you will reach the Yehliu peninsula.
Advancing proudly into the sea, this strip of land transforms at sunset into an open-air museum. Shaped by millennia, wind and salt, its rocks with surreal silhouettes — including the famous Queen's Head — offer a natural spectacle of raw and poetic beauty.
