Welcome to Jordan!

Madaba, Mount Nebo and the King's Highway
After breakfast, you set off to explore the city. Madaba is home to numerous churches adorned with beautiful mosaics. The most famous of these is found in the Church of Saint George: it is the oldest known representation of the Holy Land, particularly Jerusalem and the Decapolis, aptly named the Map of the Holy Land.
A short distance away stands the Mount Nebo, where it is believed that Moses died and where his tomb is located. It is the most important holy site in Jordanie, and from the 4th century onwards a church was built there.
You continue southward on the King's Road, along the Dead Sea. The views over the Jordan Valley are magnificent. You follow here the presumed traces of Moses leading the Hebrews during their Exodus. In the Mujib valley, a visit is a must to the Al-Karak Castle, which dominates the town and which is said to be impregnable.
Final leg heading south towards the Dana Nature Reserve. Arrival in the village of Dana and check-in at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Dana Reserve and heading to Petra
The Dana Nature Reserve is a true paradise for nature lovers and wide open space enthusiasts. Its arid appearance conceals great biodiversity. From the rift valley to the desert expanses of Wadi Araba, steep mountains and valleys succeed one another, harboring exceptional fauna and flora. Thousand-year-old rock paintings testify to the very ancient settlement of the region.
The morning is dedicated to a long guided hike exploring the reserve. A wonderful moment of rejuvenation in the midst of these immense majestic spaces.
It is time to resume the journey south. You stop a short distance north of Petra to visit the Shobak Fortress, built in the early 12th century, during the time of the Crusades, by the King of Jerusalem Baldwin I. Also called Krak de Mont Real, its position overlooking the Arabah valley made it a strategic location for controlling trade routes between Egypt, Arabia and the Red Sea.

Mythical city of Petra
The entire day is dedicated to exploring the Pink City, an icon of the country, Unesco World Heritage site, an exceptional, monumental place, shrouded in mystery, which will amaze you. You have an early breakfast and begin your visit from the town of Wadi Mussa.
Sometimes nicknamed the Lost City, built nearly 2000 years ago by the Nabataeans, "lost" to the West in the 14th century and then rediscovered in the early 19th century by a Swiss traveler disguised as an Arab claiming to want to honor the tomb of the prophet Aaron, Petra is full of tombs, palaces, stairs, rock temples…
The spectacle is everywhere and captivates lovers of beautiful stone, History as well as artists, explorers or simple travelers. The magic works and emotions run high !
Return to Wadi Mussa and check-in at the hotel for dinner and the night.

Petra
Second full day at Petra. You visit the sacrifice sites, descend the mountain on the Wadi Farassa side, explore the numerous tombs, then leave the site via the Siq al muzlim.
Night at Petra.

Arrival at Wadi Rum
You then head due south towards Wadi Rum, also called the Valley of the Moon. This enchanting and majestic desert made of dunes and rock formations in ochre tones had already captivated Lawrence of Arabia in its time.
Welcome from the team of Bedouins (desert specialist guide and cook) who will notably set up camp in the evening according to your planned itinerary. This marks the beginning of 3 days in the magic of the desert and nights under canvas or under the stars.
Without further ado, you set off for your first steps in the desert. 2 hours of walking in the morning concluded with a picnic at Burda, then 3 hours in the afternoon, until you reach the bivouac site at Um Frouth.

In the Heart of the Desert
Two full days of hiking in the desert, 4-5 hours each day, during which you fully appreciate this setting of sand, needle-like formations and ridges, among the pink dunes and stratified sandstone massifs of Um Frouth, Um Ngour, Siq Nugra.
Camp is set up at Um Sabatah on the first evening, then near the village of Diseh on the second evening. Each time, the blazing sunset invites wonder.

On the Edge of the Dead Sea
Last breakfast in the heart of the desert then return by 4x4 to Wadi Rum village.
Head north to the mythical Dead Sea. At the borders of Jordanie, Israel and the West Bank, welcome to the lowest point on Earth ! The place is ideal for relaxing at the end of your stay, as besides its exceptional altitude of -417m, its salinity is such (27.5%) that you float in it! A unique experience in this immense body of water where no fish or even algae can survive.
