Welcome to Mindelo, cultural capital of Cap-Vert
Upon arrival at Mindelo City airport (VXE), your English-speaking guide welcomes you before your transfer to your accommodation.
First immersion in Cape Verde's cultural capital, nestled between the Porto Grande port and volcanic reliefs dominated by Monte Verde. Renowned for its musical atmosphere, the city is intimately linked to Cesária Évora.
Stroll through colorful colonial houses, lively cafés and typical markets, before discovering must-sees such as the fish market, Fortim d'El Rei or the replica of the Torre de Belém de Mindelo.
Tonight, you will experience an authentic evening in Mindelo. We will have a meal based on local dishes and you will be surprised by the performance of a natural singer, who, accompanied by a guitar, will show you the best songs of this island, which is the island of music and culture!
The Solar Windelo is located in the heart of the city of Mindelo, offering easy access to beautiful beaches, fine dining restaurants and shops. Discovering Mindelo, Between Heritage and Culture
This morning, set off on a private guided walking tour of Mindelo City, the true cultural heart of Cap-Vert. Heir to Portuguese and British influences, the city reveals elegant colonial architecture and a unique atmosphere.
As you walk through the streets, discover the fish market and local markets, taste Cap-Vert specialties, then visit the museum dedicated to Cesária Évora, housed in her former home, to relive the journey of this icon of Cap-Vert music.
The walk continues to Praça Nova, the town hall, the Church square, the replica of the Belém tower, Avenida Marginal and the former customs house, now transformed into a cultural center and artist studios.
At noon, enjoy lunch at a typical restaurant in the city center to savor the local flavors.
The grand tour of São Vicente between beaches and volcanoes
Set out for a day of exploration of the most emblematic landscapes of São Vicente. By vehicle, reach the summit of Monte Verde, the highest point on the island, to admire an exceptional panorama of volcanic reliefs and neighboring islands.
The itinerary continues towards the oasis of Matiota, the fishing village of Salamansa and its beach popular with kitesurfing enthusiasts, then to Baía das Gatas, famous for its music festival and natural pool where you will enjoy free time for swimming.
Then discover the immense white sand beach of Praia Grande, before heading to the village of Calhau, dominated by its extinct volcanoes and offering a magnificent view of the island of Santa Luzia.
The return to Mindelo City is via the scenic road of Madeiral, in the heart of the wild landscapes of São Vicente.
The landscapes of Santo Antão
Boat
After crossing to Santo Antao Island, head to the most mountainous and lush island in Cap-Vert.
Driving
You take the legendary Corda road, reaching altitudes of over 1,600 meters, where several stops allow you to admire exceptional panoramas.
A short hike of about one hour around the Cova Crater immerses you in the heart of the natural park, before reaching the spectacular Ribeira de Torre valley, renowned for its banana plantations.
The discovery continues in the Paul region, located in the northeast of the island, famous along with Ribeira Grande for covering nearly a third of Santo Antão.
You discover the magnificent Paul valley, its sugarcane terraces, its agricultural lands overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, its meadows, its forests and its steep summits, which make it one of the most beautiful hiking destinations in Cap-Vert.

Welcomed into the home of a local family, you share their daily life, discover their traditions and immerse yourself in their culture. Together, you prepare the famous Cap-Vert national dish, cachupa, made with corn, beans, vegetables and meat, cooked according to the traditional method over a wood fire.
After this convivial preparation, it's time to taste your cachupa for lunch, accompanied by water, coffee and a seasonal fruit for dessert. A unique human and gastronomic experience, as close as possible to local life.

Passport
To enter Cape Verde, your passport must be valid for a minimum of six months after your entry date into the country and have at least one blank page for immigration stamps.
The document must be in good condition (no damaged, torn, or altered pages).
Tourist stay without visa
Nationals of the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and Canada benefit from a visa exemption for tourist stays in Cape Verde.
This exemption allows a stay of up to 30 days upon entry into the territory, renewable once in-country with Cape Verdean immigration services, up to a limit of 90 days per year.
Authorities may also request:
an exit ticket from the territory (return or onward flight),
proof of sufficient financial resources for the duration of your stay,
an accommodation booking for the duration of your stay.
EASE (Electronic pre-registration)
Before your arrival in Cape Verde, you must complete the online registration form EASE (Electronic Authorization for Sustainable Entry), established by Cape Verdean authorities.

The form must be completed online before your departure. A digital confirmation or QR code will be issued to you and may be requested when passing through immigration.
Health
No vaccines are officially required to enter Cape Verde from the EEA, Switzerland, or Canada. However, it is recommended to update routine vaccinations and consult a doctor or travel clinic before departure.
Vaccination against yellow fever may be required if you are arriving from a country where this disease is endemic.
Travel with children
Minors must hold their own valid passport covering the duration of the stay.
In some European countries, when a minor travels without one of their parents, an authorization for departure from the territory may be required according to the regulations of the country of residence.
