The stages of your journey
Highlights
Day-by-day itinerary

Arrival in Cappadocia
Arrival at Kaisery airport, where your driver welcomes you. You then drive to Cappadocia and the village of cavusin, nestled at the foot of a cliff.
Check-in at your hotel.
Depending on your arrival time, you begin your discovery of Cappadocia with a visit to the Pasabag Valley – "the Valley of the Monks" – whose characteristic natural formations are striking to the eye, particularly its fairy chimneys.

Multicolored Valleys of Cappadocia
Gomede valley → Kizilçukur valley
After a short transfer to the Gömede Valley (10 minutes), you begin your hike with the discovery of the Pancarlik Valley, known for its peaks, valleys, hoodoos and its many fairy chimneys.
You also take time to visit the rock-cut churches of Kepez and Sarica, dating from the 10th and 12th centuries respectively.
Picnic before resuming your walk along the Kizilçukur Valley, called the red valley because of the hues the rock takes on here. You observe the work of time and the gradual erosion that has shaped the volcanic rock, as well as the cave dwellings integrated into the landscape.
Hiking time: 4h00 to 4h30
Elevation gain: negligible
Back to Cappadocia.

Sublime Ihlara Valley
Cappadoce → Ville souterraine Derinkuyu
You head towards western Cappadocia and reach the Derinkuyu Underground City, which you visit. Arranged over 8 levels, it extends down to 55 meters deep.
Ville souterraine Derinkuyu → Selime
You continue your journey to the village of Selime, starting point of your hike that takes you along the Ihlara Valley to Belisirma.
Carved out of rock and bordered by steep cliffs, the valley is home to many churches adorned with remarkably well-preserved paintings, testament to the religious fervor of past eras.
Of volcanic origin, the Ihlara Valley was formed after the cooling of lava from the Mountains Mount Hasan (Hasan Dağı) and Erciyes. Over time, erosion shaped this enclosed canyon, surrounded by cliffs reaching 150 meters in height, which has sheltered various civilizations and today provides the setting for your hiking adventure.
You follow the course of the Melendiz River, discover troglodytic dwellings and visit several rock-cut churches dating from the 6th to 12th centuries.
The walk continues through plantations of willows and poplars, until the Village of Belisirma, where you have lunch by the riverside.
Hiking time: 3 to 3.5 hours
Elevation gain: negligible

Discovering the Village of Uchisar
This day's hike (approximately 5 hours) takes you to the picturesque village ofUçhisar.
You hike along the White Valley (Bağlıdere vadisi), marked by wide fairy chimneys in light hues, sometimes tinged with sulfur. Formerly inhabited, this region features crops arranged in terraces, protected by natural reliefs.
The troglodytic dwellings in the valley are now used as storage sheds or stables. Their former openings, carved into the tufa, open onto now-empty rooms and give the place an atmosphere that is both peaceful and unique.
You then visit the volcanic tufa fortress, located on a rocky promontory overlooking the village, offering an expansive view of the surrounding Cappadocia valleys.
After a picnic in the shade of fruit trees, you continue your hike through new landscapes, before reaching the Pigeon Valley, which leads you to the village of Göreme.
Hiking time: 4.5 to 5 hours
Elevation gain: negligible

On the shores of Lake Beysehir
Güzelyurt → Sultanhani Caravanserai
Early morning departure heading west, through the province ofAksaray, whose steppe landscapes characterize this region and evoke Mongolia. The expanse of these open spaces contrasts with the reliefs of Cappadocia and announces the landscapes of the Mediterranean coast to come.
Along the way, you visit the Caravansarai of Sultanhani (Sultanhanı Kervansarayı). Dating from the 13th century, it extends over 4500 m² and is among the best-preserved caravansarais in Turquie, representative of Anatolian Seljuk architecture.
Sultanhani Caravanserai → Konya
You visit the city of Konya, known for its border carpets representing houses as well as for its local specialties, including etliekmek.
The city is home to the Alaeddin Mosque of Konya and its mausoleum where eight sultans of the Sultanate of Iconium rest, as well as the mausoleum of Jalal ad-Din Rumi, founder of the order of whirling dervishes.
At the end of the day, you reach the shores of the Lake Beyşehir, where you settle into a family guesthouse.

In the Koprulu Canyons
Lac de Beysehir → Canyon de Koprulu
After enjoying the landscapes of Lake Beysehir, you head back on the road towards the Mediterranean coast.
You cross the Taurus Mountains (Toros Dağları) chain, with lunch planned at a mountain restaurant, before reaching the Köprü River and its canyon.
You settle in for two nights in a riverside hotel.

Visit to the Roman city of Selge
After a short transfer to the village of Selge (ancient city), you begin an immersion in history that takes you back to the early centuries of our era. Selge, an ancient city of Pisidia, experienced a period of prosperity, particularly under the Roman Empire, before declining from the 4th century onwards.
A theatre with 7,700 seats, built in the 2nd century, is one of its principal testimonies. You also discover the remains of the stadium, the ancient agora, Roman baths as well as those of the temple of Zeus. Fragments of walls and ancient sarcophagi complete this visit.
After this cultural visit, you set off on a hike towards the Bosburun massif.
As you progress, the Mediterranean reveals itself in the background, while you trek through wide forested valleys.
Hiking time: 5h to 5h30
Elevation gain: +600 meters
Bozburun Mount → Canyon de Koprulu
The vehicle awaits you in the village of Altincukur to take you back to your hotel, where you can enjoy the river.

Hiking and swimming on the Lycian Way
In the morning, you take the road and reach the coast at the end of the journey. You then discover the landscapes of the Mediterranean.
Your first coastal stop is located at Çamuyva, a small town where cafes, bars and restaurants line avenues bordered with palm trees and pine trees.
Lunch at the restaurant.
In the afternoon, you set off for a hike towards the village of Tekirova. You follow a coastal path that reveals several coves, ideal for swimming breaks.
Hiking time: 2h to 2h30
Elevation gain: +50 / -50 meters
Late afternoon, transfer to your hotel in the village of Olympos and Çıralı.

Between Fiery Mountains and Ancient Ruins
From your base, you begin exploring the region with an excursion to the Chimaera mountain.
Departing from the village of Olympos and Çıralı, you follow a wild trail that leads you to the site. You observe fumaroles that ignite on contact with air.
Hiking time: 3h to 3h30
Elevation gain: +200 / -300 meters
After lunch, you follow the course of a river flowing into the sea, in the heart of an environment marked by dense vegetation and fragrant laurels. This setting is home to the remains (necropolises, theatre, baths, temples, warehouses) of the ancient port of Olympos.
Founded approximately 2,300 years ago during the Greek period, the city of Olympos and Çıralı was occupied by pirates before experiencing development during the Roman period, from which most of the observed remains originate.
After the visit, you return to your hotel and enjoy a moment of relaxation on the beach.

Ancient City of Myra & Coastal Villages
Your stage of the day takes you to the Kale region.
On the way, you make a first stop in the town of Demre, which is home to the site of the ancient city of Myra. Founded approximately 2500 years ago, this city was the metropolis of Lycia during the Roman period and drew its prosperity from murex extraction and purple production. In the 5th century, it became the capital of Byzantine anarchy before declining after its capture by the Abbasids in the 9th century.
You visit its necropolis, composed of rock-cut tombs carved into the cliff, as well as the remains of the theatre and the baths.
After this visit, you head off on a hiking trail towards the village of Kale (Simena) – medieval village and castle (or Semina). Your walk along the Lycian Way takes you to two secluded coves, where you have the opportunity to swim.
You then reach the small port of Semina, accessible only by boat or on foot. The flower-adorned cottages and Lycian sarcophagi contribute to the character of this seaside village.
Hiking time: 3 to 3.5 hours
Elevation gain: +30 / -200 meters
